Texas Lottery takes step toward selling Powerball
The Texas Lottery Commission took a step Tuesday toward expanding state gambling options to include Powerball, with a chance for the first ticket to be sold here Jan. 31.
I think we would be remiss in at least not stepping out there and trying it. If we see it doesn't work, we can certainly pull back out, said Chairwoman Mary Ann Williamson before the commission unanimously voted to publish proposed game rules for public comment.
If the panel gives final approval to the rules early next y

Lottery Surveys-CA
While looking at the numbers on the CA Lottery website, I took a 5 min. survey about the Super Lotto game. I believe they want to know if we would prefer:
1) lower jackpots and
2) play the game everyday instead of twice a week--I think they need to re-vamp the game to try to generate more winners--big winners which will include me
Meanwhile, has any one participate in Lottery Surveys in their own state??

Fortune Cookie Lottery Numbers
NY is a MM state. The PB game where the fortune cookie numbers matched 5+0 had something along the lines of 120 winners, from many states. The company that made those fortune cookies is in NY, and at the time they were picking the numbers by drawing slips of paper from a bowl.
Clearly those people are very lucky that they went ahead and played those numbers, but it hardly means that playing the numbers from a fortune cookie makes any sense. That incident is an indication of how many people do

Idaho Lottery Commission approves Mega Millions
Tickets to go on sale in Jan. 2010
Idahoans may soon get the chance to play another multi-million dollar jackpot game.
The Idaho State Lottery Commission announced Tuesday that Mega Millions, the nation's other big jackpot, multi-state draw game could start selling tickets in Idaho early as Jan. 31, 2010.
The five-member Lottery Commission unanimously approved offering Mega Millions with Megaplier tickets in Idaho.
Powerball with PowerPlay, Idaho's other big jackpot game, will also c

The problem with Online Gaming...One Theory...
online gaming might be possible alone with online gambling which some will say is the same..This is the problem...If online gaming become a reality and online gamlbing becomes a reality this will mean that there will be several sellers of online gaming out there, what this will cause? less money generated...A lot of money will be generated but it will be compartmentalized meaning Jackpots will not be that big...And that's the problem...the best is to select a game LOVED BY ALL/MANY and let it be

What is a loose lottery wheel?
I wish they did the same with keywheels, that they did partial key wheels dont know if it will work...Partial wheels only experts can do them is not just anyone that can do them...I believe partial wheels have a very good advantage over abbreviated wheels for instance you could use them on Pick4 specially if you see pick4 as a combination game and not a permutation game as seen in my previous blog, if that was the case they could win MANY pick4's jackpots as much as they like...the only problem

First Step in Solving Pick 5/39 (All States Who Have It)
CARBOB your extensive data proves that the Ones-Teens-Twenties-Thirties group hit the most for our lottery over time, just as I thought. This means that unfortunately, it would be unwise to dismiss that group, contrary to what lottolaughs suggested above (which is disappointing since groups of only three combinations would be somewhat less difficult to have success with). Then again, that's over 8 years worth of data you have there. The frequency of the ABBCD group (Ones-Teens-Teens-Twenties-Thi

Do you BELIEVE you will win the Powerball or Mega Millions Jackpot?
I hope California does NOT get the Powerball game. In fact, maybe I'll write to various state leaders and the lotto board asking them NOT to include it. What happens is, with these larger games, the ones which have odds over 175 Million to 1 (!), people tend to play them when the jackpots grow very large. The problem is that, with 175 Million to 1 (!) odds, you have virtually no chance of winning them.
When people play these long odds games, they siphon off the jackpot from California's regu

Multi-state lottery shockwave sweeping America
If TX elects to sell PB tickets, I think LA may change it's mind about MM tickets becasue when jackpots are high, TX residents (I'm not a Texan, I just live here) pour a lot of $ into LA. When we (my family/friends and I) go over, not only do we play PB, but we also hit a casino or two or three. We eat and buy gas there too. I think the amount of $ lost could be enough for LA to notice.
If both states decide to sell both, I think LA will fare better than TX because TX residents will still cro
