Post your scratch ticket results
As others have stated, the larger over $600 Florida scratch ticket winners have non-winning three letter codes. I wouldn't be surprised if these three letter codes on the big winners are also recorded as an extra security measure so on the big winners they know what three letter code is supposed to be on the valid ticket (someone trying to fake a ticket would also have to know which non-winning three letter code would go on the ticket).

Do You Think??
Sure they can but they aren't suppose to until a ticket need to be verified. A few years ago Indiana had a security person take a peek and send a couple of his buddies to the store with a million dollar winner to buy the whole roll. He didn't give them an equal share of the winnings, they talked and they all went to jail.

CA Lottery - California Love - CA Lottery Scratchers
I read an article where they interviewed a former lottery security official from a large state (didn't disclose which state). They were discussing fraud and who knows where actual winning tickets are being sold and when. He mentioned that there are many layers of checks and balances to ensure integrity of its scratchers, and in order to perpetuate fraud (e.g., sending your friends to buy entire rolls of tickets at specific retailers to win top prizes) you need at least 6 people from the gaming c

Georgia Mega Millions jackpot winner comes forward
Wow?! she has a 39 year old daughter who has 4 children with the oldest being 20. Ira may be a Great-grandmother while still in her 50's. Glad that her entire family will have financial security but it will be awfully hard to keep the little one grounded.

who oversees the Mega Millions and Powerball
Both Powerball and Mega Millions are supervised by the Multi-State Lottery Association aka MUSL. Their website is a little outdated but has relevant information. Both the PB and MM websites also have information related to game security etc.

$550 MILLION: Mega Millions holiday bonanza!
Sounds like winning could be a headache for some people with all the expectations of relatives, friends, neighbors and even strangers. The first thing the winner might has to look into is security before even talking to a lawyer or financial planner.

Florida lottery ticket worth $1.3 million about to expire
$1.3 million is nothing to sneeze at. Even after taxes, that can help you buy a nice house or several high-end vehicles. Or, it could give you a little bit of financial security like a little nest egg. I hope the winner checks their ticket and claims their prize.

Night vision glasses?
There are many security features built in to scratch ticket technology that will prevent this from happening: materials used including metallic or foil coats, patterning, confuse layers, seal coats, and so forth:
