If you won, what would you buy?
I love these threads...keep 'em coming.
If I won MM on Tuesday, first thing on my list would be to pay off my student loans.
Second would be to buy a house. Nice 4 bedroom with a pool and lots of outdoor space.
I'd buy two cars, an SUV for winter and a two-door/coup that I can drive during the summer.
After that, then I'd figure out how much I'd want to give to my family and friends. I'd buy my sister a house and set up a college fund/trust for my nieces and nephews.
Then

Weak Powerball Sales?
if the MM jackpot is not won tonite....and the jackpot rolls to lets say 150 million...then i think nobody will bother to play the PB tommorrow...as a matter of fact...nobody will be even thinking about it...I haven't even checked my gremlin program to see what the best bets are ...i am still a little ticked off from running to the store on monday...almost getting a heart attack, and finding i missed the cutoff time by a half hour...another thing to consider is syndicate organization...

How to calculate these types of probability?
Hello SergeM,
Your statement of: I don't play pick 3, the payout is low. , is very understandable.
It would appear that from your point of view, low pay out games are a waste of time. This is also understandable.
From my point of view, attempting to comprehend different theories of probabilities and combinations, then attempting to figure out how to create the program language to implement an idea, it's much easier to work with a smaller number pool. That being stated, I still attempt t

patterns in the lottery games
Perhaps the most effective patterns are ones that change with the properties of the game....(patterns of change)
Why is it that people think repeatable patterns numeric patterns are a viable solution to games that are continually changing?
Without knowing about property changes in the game, you never really know when to pull the trigger as you put it.
One type of change might be...
How many numbers out of the pool of lotto numbers has been picked in the last 5 games...10 games....15

Cash Vs Annuity Payments
Yes I understand how the annuity works and yes the compound interest formula over simplifies the question but the basic fact remains, government bonds are at very very low rates and taxes are at low rates. If you look at treasury.gov at the start of this year yields were 0.01 to 2.98, and only the 20 and 30 year notes are over 2. Go back 5 years to 07 and the yields were 4.68 to 5.11 and it was the 3 month to 1 year notes that were all over 5.
All they do with the annuity is take the cash in

Baby steps in Scratch Offs
Overall odds of 1 in 3.20 means (on average) 1 out of every 3.20 is a winner.
Odds of 1 in 480,000 means for every 480,000 tikets, 1 of those is a Top Prize of 50,000
That does necessarily mean that if you buy 4 tickets in a row that one will be a winner...You could have 10 losers in a row, then in another roll of tickets have 3 winners in a row.
Its the Over-all odds for the entire pool of tickets printed.
** BTW - each prize level is for the total tickets in that gam

Lottery jackpots may get bigger
The new minimum jackpot makes only a small difference because almost all jackpots rolled past $40 million with the old minimums.
What does make a huge difference is that the jackpot gets twice as much money from each ticket sold, while the odds were only improved by a modest amount. Selling fewer tickets means the jackpot won't grow twice as fast, but since the odds are only slightly better it also means there's almost twice as much chance of a rollover for each drawing.
On average they ha

Lottery Director Professional Software The Ending
With the Lottery Director making a STATIC filtered wheel and using all the 35 numbers for the 4 main numbers of a Tx2Step game the best that it could do with its filters was make a little fewer than 30, 000 combinations and even then it would not pass all the winning numbers, but maybe about half of them, that is it maybe would win with all 4 main winning numbers only about half of the time, a full 35 numbers wheel for the main numbers is 52, 360 total unfiltered combinations, there are not very

Congrats on your win this evening.
There is also a strong possibility that the 931 may show itself in the cash4 this evening as well.
Also, Marge if you are reading this post, I see where no one claimed the $77 million Powerball ticket that was sold in West Ga.
With that being said, I understand that the unclaimed prize money is going back into the prize pool and is to be divided amongst participating states and will be used for future games and special prize promotions.
