Ohio Classic Lotto STILL going up!
I played MegaMillions yesterday and played Classic Lotto today, it's not often I can play 2 games with nice jackpots locally. I had almost given up on Classic Lotto until I matched four on the forth and now that MM was hit, I'll spend more time picking my CL numbers and hoping to get lucky. The payouts were in the $50K range which means tickets sales were probably as good as ever. Probably too many players like me who are using a system to pick their combinations and missing those combination

Maybe this could work: Just trying to help. LP could win Jackpots
Pick-4 straight pays $5000; do you really want to share that with 49,999 LP members? I haven't seen that many 5 of 5 Pick-5 winners to justify the play either and besides most Pick-5 jackpots are under $300.000. It seems like you are forgetting that someone would have the huge headache of managing the money and the nightmare of actually placing all the bets. And if I'm going to spend a 100 bucks a month on lottery games, I'd like to have a fighting chance to win a substantial amount. A $200 m

also please don't think i am bumping my thread i am just adding something i think is important...that time limit of 20 minutes to modify your post is actually like 7 minutes because i've timed it, i think they should increase it if they don't want people bumping their thread... Anyways like how i was saying nobody is asking you not to go solo, you can go solo all you want they are just asking you to contribute [different than donate] 50 dollars a month for 2 months that's it, not any more....

What Would You Change About Your State Lottery?
I'd totally revamp Oregon Lottery! Yes definitely go back to ball drawings and have the jackpots increase faster- now they only go up $200,000 per unwon drawing ... takes a really long time for the jackpot to get high enough to be worth playing. And I'd figure out how they could shuffle their scratch offs better ... seems like all the big winners end up in the same 2 or 3 counties over and over ... and redesign their web site!!! It is very difficult to find things on the site and the frequency c

Pick Your Own Price Lottery
when i said: like 5 years ago here in LP i suggested why don't they create a Powerball that cost 25 cents and people win 25% [1/4th] of the current jackpot of Powerball which back then was 12 million so 1/4 will be 3 million... .... i was reffering to a flat rate kind of thing, a flat jackpot...I was thinking of 3 million all the time without jackpots rolling over... Call it the Jr Powerball ....

Pick Your Own Price Lottery
It could be an added twist to established games with fixed prizes like Pick-3 and Pick-4 where players could win $50 or $500 for a dime bet. As for the higher jackpot games, penny or dime bets aren't going to increase the size of the jackpot that much. On the other hand if a penny player had the only winning ticket, they would collect 1% with the rest of the money rolling into the next jackpot as if nobody won. If you bought a dollar ticket, I bought a penny ticket and we both split a $7 mill

New Hampshire crushes lottery winners with new 10% tax
Valid Points Todd. Rjoh floored me with a bit of history about Ohio and its past behavior Lottery wise. Really have a hard time grasping the fact they already take 50% of the money and retain for their own use, then decide they want 10% more....Something is soo off about that. Turn it around and simply retain 60% from the get go, making the jackpots grow slower and still attract SOME activity for the games. But to hurt those who are the contributors seems like a slap in the face....

New Hampshire crushes lottery winners with new 10% tax
In the nineties Ohio had the best state lottery around with jackpots of $50M+ which attracted players from neighboring states when Ohio lawmakers added a rule that limited the winnings of a single lottery ticket to $20M regardless of the advertised jackpot size and people stopped playing. They got rid of that rule after a year of declining tickets sales but the lottery never recovered until after 2002 when MegaMillions was added to bring players back and stop them going out of state to play Powe

Obama Admin. working on 90% tax on lottery?
No doubt about it, the desire to win a large jackpot drives lottery ticket buying frenzies that make money for the states but there are some folks out there who think it just wrong for some poor slob to instantly have that much money because he bought a lottery ticket. In the nineties when Ohio had the best state lottery around with jackpots of $50M+ which attracted players from neighboring states, Ohio lawmakers added a rule that limited the winnings of a single lottery ticket to $20M regard

Obama Admin. working on 90% tax on lottery?
Almost every state lottery that has a decline in profits blames it in part because of lower than expected Powerball or Mega Millions sales due to the jackpots being hit before they reach ticket buying frenzies. A 90% Federal tax on winnings over $250,000 would virtually ruin all the multi-million dollar games. The headlines in the News forum will be On Thursday a Farmer from Southern Illinois claimed the $113 million Mega Millions jackpot and Farmer Brown took the $70 million cash value .
