It's funny that you chose the name cursed , and then the very first word of the first post you make here is a curse. The payout is lowered for two reasons: cash option and taxes . Isn't everyone always saying the rich don't get taxed enough? Well, I would say a lottery winner qualifies as rich . If you want lottery winners to keep more of their jackpots, simply support efforts to lower taxes all-around. Then they'll keep more of it.

I never play the Powerplay or Sizzler option. I figure why throw away an extra dollar on something that maxed out. If you win the jackpot.....the powerplay option is irrelevant. The jackpot doesn't get multiplied by 5. It only is beneficial if in Powerball if you hit 5 WB's., and in that case you get 1 million if you played the Powerplay option. The progressive jackpot only jumped by $113 after 3 days so it didn't get off to a rousing start if that is any indication of play. Still I think I'm going to like this game better than Wildcard 2. Wildcard is 5/31 with bonus 1/16. Payout on 5 match is only $5000. On the other hand you get 2 picks for $1. Match 4 for Wildcard 2 only pays $20 which is really low.
