What was the deal with Powerball?
the odds do NOT change contingent on the previous drawing. Thus why its a random ball drawing. The combinations are equal each drawing . The numbers have the same weight in being pulled. Heck the number 7 could be pulled again and it doesnt make it any more statistically advantageous. Its the luck of the draw and nothing more.

Fixed Lotteries
pumpi wrote; Sometimes i get the feeling that they do the following..Sometimes i've wonder if they play the machine over and over until certain number comes up (for pick3, pick4 and pick5)... And this is where it can get weird how do we know were seeing the real drawing or a pre determined drawing like when the are testing the balls and machines a pre draw could easily be recorded to suite them and when they go on air put the drawing of their choice as live..

If you ran a pool...
Most people don't join a lottery pool to spend $10 per drawing, they usually join hoping to spend a dollar and get the advantage of spending more by combining their dollar with the dollars of other players and they're only interested in joining a pool when the jackpot is large. Such pool don't really take a lot of managing skills since they only happen when the jackpot gets big. The person in charge simply make a list of everyone who contributed a dollar and make photo copies of the tickets bo

LP members and lottery beliefs
What I mean by beat'n the odd's is to contrive a system that alerts you when the time is favorable for wagering bets, and then delivers the correct numbers to wager the very next drawing for at least a 2nd tier prize, or even possibly, the jackpot prize. I dissagree that it is mostly luck , but will agree that a little luck and a solid statistical based system is all that is necessary to git er' done . Today I am following this notion by posting numbers for the Ohio Rolling Cash 5 drawi

N.C. Lottery wins 1st Powerball border battle
Tar Heel state outsells S.C.; an N.C. ticket holder wins $200,000 North Carolina's lottery won its first head-to-head showdown with South Carolina's game this week. The Tar Heel state collected more than three times the cash in ticket sales than its southern neighbor during the run up to the first Powerball drawing involving both states. An N.C. lottery ticket holder also won big. Someone who bought a Powerball ticket in North Carolina won $200,000 in Wednesday's Powerball drawing, N.C. Ed

The Meaning of Random Drawing
I appreciate the help Four4me......but I have just decided that if MM is gonna make it that much more difficult to win by messing with the ball sets then I am just going to go to $5 each drawing and stop the insane madness of spending an average of $250 to $300 per drawing for the last 3 months. The last drawing was the camel that broke that back. I have been playing the number 48 on every single ticket for the last 12 drawings. I switched on Wednesday and what do you know..... 48 showed up n

The Meaning of Random Drawing
I e-mailed this question to Mega Millions last week and i am now waiting for a response. In the meantime I am curious to see what do most of you think. If you think about it....the odds get significantly greater than 175 mil to 1...if the numbers are selected based on what combo will pay out the least amount of winnings. Then it truly boils down to pure chance that you selected a combo that pays out the least. By the way....I got $18 on two tickets from this drawing. One combo had two numb

Mega Draw
What I don't understand is that there was a winner at $30M yet now its $35M. Don't get me wrong I don't care how it gets big. I just love the fact that people keep winning yet the prize keeps getting bigger. Maybe that's why the prize only grows at 5M per draw. It might have gone up faster if no one won. I guess that's the difference with US games. In the US somene wins - prize gets small. Then you wait for many rollovers so you can get tickets again. In Canada someone wins, the prize gets bigge

Probability of a MegaMillions rollover.
The Megamillions has rolled over. The cash value is $a48.9M the annuity value is $265M. The cash value is higher than Powerball's and I doubt that Powerball will catch up again in this run. The previous jackpot reached a cash value of $126.7M, and I did slightly better at my prediction than MM did for cash value size. As before, the lottery continues to rise as if it had skipped a drawing. The jackpot/sales were more consistent with a 14th drawing than a 13th drawing. I will therefore
