Office lottery pool
I wouldn't pass on joining a lottery pool just because I wouldn't be able to retire if the group won. Paying off all of your bills and affording a nice house and car with cash would also be worth the few $ per week investment. I play in an office pool with 18 people and we track tickets and statistics in an excel spreadsheet and also on a website we created/run. $5/week each.

Office lottery pool
You have to ask yourself:Does the office Lottery pool have so many people in it that my share of a winning jackpot won't allow me to retire? I NEVER join lottery pools.I'm greedy and don't like sharing with others.

I Won A $86Million Annuity
For real. I used to think to myself, that if I ever win Powerball, I was going to give half to my parents. I knew the gift tax existed, but I had no idea how high it was. I decided to look on the IRS website and found out that it's 45%. That is insanely high. If I gave half to my parents, I would end up with close to 1/4 of what I actually won and I would end up having a lot less than them, which doesn't make sense to me. So I decided I'm just going to give them enough to retire. I know the gift

What jackpot would you prefer?
I actually think about this often. I play MM, Tx Lotto, Tx 2 Step and Cash 5. Aside from playing $1 each draw on Cash 5 which is Mon thru Sat, I am always trying to figure how much to play on the other games and stay within budget which is $30 -$32 a week. It comes down to the odds of each game and my wish to retire (I am REALLY sick of the furniture biz). So right now I play the most on Tx Lotto because the jackpot would provide instant retirement $ but the odds aren't crazy like MM. Tx 2 Step

If you won powerball or megamillion
I'm not real close with my family so they dont get anything. My mother and my daughter will get ALOT. Moms can retire and go see the world. Daughter would get the best education money could buy. I will give to friends that have been there through thick and thin. I will give to various charites. I plan on starting a annual Thanksgiving dinner for less fortunate and plan on taking a few poor families a year Christmas shopping complete with toys, trees and trimings, and Dinner. MM jackpots are huge

Ottawa barber, client share $32M lottery win
I wouldn't give my relatives cash money. You can only give 12 grand without tax implications. I might buy them things like an HDTV but really I would much rather give them gift cards. For example, my parents are not too many years from a civil service retirement. Rather than giving them enough money to retire early (and thus lose benefits and money) I would give them enough on gift cards to buy all of their groceries and clothing so they could use their own money to pay off bills and such. Tax p

What should Bill Gates do with his money?
Bill Gates has always given away hundreds of millions to charity. I doubt if he will ever officially retire, since he is the 3rd richest man in the world and made it by being a savvy entrepreneur tycoon. So what does this have to do with the lottery? Do you think he should give it to lottery players? Develop lottery software? Sell wheels?

Anybody playing lottery out of revenge?
You do have a problem - if you are troubled with in your life surroundings , job , family ect ---- move start anew dont dwell in the pass move on think of your self , but your post does tie in with pass post as far as to how to rub it into your fellow workers and you last fleeting moments at work before you retire and those who you feel did you ill wrong. A measure of insight of being a class act after winning a lottery winfall --- less said is like a dash of salt on a open wound. Be bold but qu

Some lottery millionaires can't wait to return to work
CaliWinner, I am just reading your response and I like. Of course, I would like to stay active...but working for someone else...that's out of the question. My friend, a retired teacher, told me that she's is busier now than when she was teaching. Finally, what people must do before they retire (whether or not they win a lottery) is have some enjoyable hobbies, now -- don't wait until the last day of retirement, to wake up the next morning, saying: now, what do I do? How sad...have a game plan
