Ohio man wins lottery, beaten and robbed at local bar
This is one of the reason why most winners would like to remain anonymous. Their safety is at risk and some people would like to take advantage of them. If I will win a lottery I will hire security to protect me.

Why do you play the lottery?
Financial security for myself and mom and dad. Take care of sisters. And be able to go to Beverly Hills and shop, have a sports car if I want it. Just freedom to do as I please.

Calif. Lottery trying to track down big winner
They would probably argue that video evidence is not admissible and demand the ticket yet they will use video clips of security cameras to prosecute vandals or burglars. The law is a jealous mistress haha

What do you love most about Lottery Post?
Yea but to send a memo telling us that we could not open our curtains for a speech occurring almost a block away inside a building was extreme. Never got memos like that for GWB or even Clinton. Security and preparation is one thing, paranoia is another.

How BIG can a lottery pool be?
Consider this: When you collect a prize won by a pool you have to include all the members names and social security numbers for tax purposes. How many names can you write on a single form or two? Do you really think the IRS is going to play this silly game?

Mathematics and the Lottery
With retailers getting 5% of sales for selling and cashing in tickets, vendors probably getting 5% for supplying terminals and software and a staff of managers, security and maintenance people getting 10%, players would have to be giving up cashing in 40% of their prize money. Do you really feel that many winning tickets go unclaimed?

Why do clerks always scan winning tickets at the back?
Yes of course. I always scratch the front bar code before giving the ticket to the clerk but for some reason they don't scan it. They would rather scan the back bar code and enter they 3 digit security code which I also scratch.
