Lottery Chatter
Welcome to LP Matt! I don't play Florida lottery so I don't have those games, but the most I have have won was about $25 dollars on Powerball. There is a poster here named justxploring who lives and plays in Florida and I believe she plays Fantasy 5 or something and has won a little bit of money playing. I am also beginning to think that quick picks are the way to go with the larger jackpots. Since the odds are so huge, it seems that trying to find a system to crack Powerball and Mega Mill

Anybody playing lottery out of revenge?
Since I am playing the lottery out of bitter revenge, I want my prize to be obscenely huge. And I don't want to share my prize with any F-ers out there. You know, I wonder if 40 mil prize is enough for me to bring my life story to Oprah and People Magazine. Actually, I have two different sets of numbers from two separate dreams. If I win jackpots twice with the numbers I saw in my two separate dreams, that would be something, right? If I win a big one, I am definitely going public: USA

Calling Lottomike
Hope you and your family are well, Mike! One positive way of looking at his absence (I've also noticed he's missing) is that he's doing his best to focus on his job and family. He's often written how difficult it is to support 3 other people. Not to sound negative at all, but sometimes I find that this board (in an indirect way that's almost subliminal) encourages me to buy more lottery tickets. No, I don't think Todd is flashing messages to my brain that tell me to buy more tickets, you

payout/jackpot question
Blackblue There are two ways to collect most jackpots (ie MegaMillions or Powerball and most state lotteries) - either by taking it as an annuity that pays out over a certain number of years (25 years for Megamillions and 30 for Powerball - check your own state's lottery website to see what their deal is). Or you can take a cash option which pays you the amount of money the lottery organization would put into an annuity to generate the payouts over their particular time span. It is not exact

Winning Mega Millions lottery ticket worth $56M sold in Michigan
Why do we even have pari-mutuel here? I really should look that up, I complain about it often enough. Sometimes, pari-mutuel is advantageous. Like the ticket that won $697,476 in Feb. for 5 out of 6 on Mega Millions. Most of the time, though, it's only a little better than what those poor saps got stuck with. Don't get me wrong, I think they were lucky to win $33,757, but, come on, that ain't no $250,000. The last MM jackpot was won at $17M. This month, $56M. Is that what the jackpots are

Do you have the "FEELING" that you'll win or just the "HOPE"?
When Ohio started the Buckeye 5 (5/37), I knew I was going to match all 5 numbers and win a $100,000 jackpot because I had some success matching 4 and 5 numbers in the lotto game. I matched many 3's and a few 4's but never won the big one and over time the feeling became more of a hope. The game is now 5/39 with rolling jackpots starting at $100,000. I believe with a sound playing strategy that can return most of our wagers that will keep us in the game it's possible, but it's still a hope. W

Do you have the "FEELING" that you'll win or just the "HOPE"?
I bet many people on this board share that FEELING you mention. I've read a lot of posts stating I KNOW but the problem is there are only about 8 or 9 jackpots a year and millions of people buying tickets. We can all hope. A rabbi a priest go to a boxing match together. They watch as each boxer steps into the ring. The rabbi sees one of the boxers cross himself. So he turns and asks the priest, What does that mean? The priest answers, Not a damn thing if the man can't fight!

Where/When Big Game/Mega Mill winners
Thanks Todd. I found Big Game information on the Michigan ring web sight but that only tells you the amount of the Jackpot and if it was won or not. It does not tell where it was won. I am going to have alot of googling to do on that one. Big game Jackpots almost never made it past $70 Million until that record $363 Million just near the time it changed to Mega Mill. If I ever sit down and make a winners list I will post it. Now before I say anything more I will check USA MEGA and see if

Confession/Poll
We have MegaMillions in Ohio and last year I would drive 115 minutes down the Lincoln highway (Rt30) to New Haven, Indiana for PowerBall tickets when its jackpot was $200M+ and MM jackpot was a lot less. Lately both games have had similar size jackpots so the differences weren't worth the drive. Now that gas prices are $4 per gallon, driving that far for lottery tickets is even less attractive. If MM jackpot size isn't big enough then I'll wait out a couple of drawings and it will be. Puttin
