Lottery flub pays off: Michigan co-workers win $1M
I don't really understand the mentality of someone who would play in an office pool and individually on the side for the same drawing. Such a person would be better off not joining their office pool in the first place and using the money saved to buy more tickets for their own lottery habit.

Lottery flub pays off: Michigan co-workers win $1M
.. But too many people in this pool. A week or two ago, our walking wounded lottery player, found himself in a pool of well over 100 persons. As Rocket in Infinity War, after hearing of Thor's new weapon' s name said That's a bit much!

NJ man's broken hip turns into lottery riches
You missing the whole point Q,by calling it pathetic. How so you ask? Well for one, Earl is not a regular in this gigantic pool, he could be classified as a passing through member. 2nd: l would guess that he put * perhaps $5.00 at the most in the pot. The returns on his investment, was outstanding. Can you see Earl saying l won too little, split it with the other members of the pool! I cant...

$1.537 billion Mega Millions jackpot won by 1 ticket sold in South Carolina
A pool for one drawing isn't a bad idea in states experienced with pools. But the people in the weekly pools are risking what should be the time of their lives turning into a nightmare when one or two players say they were part of the pool. For every legal form people think will cover it, a good lawyer will find twice as many reasons their client should get a piece of the pie.

$900 MILLION: Mega Millions lottery jackpot raised just hours after initial estimate
While I would be happy with the starting jackpot, I really want this for my little work pool. There are 8 of us in the pool, and 2 of them have/had breast cancer (one is stage 4) the other is in remission and we just learned that another person has cancer that has spread and is inoperable, stage 4. The med bills are staggering, even with insurance.

Why do people here congratulate potblockers?
It's more like pot-luck than pot blocking!!! It just happened to be an office pool that won this time, but many jackpots have been won by individuals and multiple players from various states sharing the same jackpot. Those bank employee pool that won this time would probably never win another big jackpot like that.

Why the fervor over a winner being a quick pick or self pick?
Here where it said that we are speaking about classic 6/49 game with 13,983,816 possible tickets/combinations. if it would be known that 2 or 3 winning tickets were generated by quick pick system, it would clearly show that organizers sell multiple tickets for each combinations. So, instead of pool of 13,983,816 combinations, they sell from double or triple amount of combinations, reducing the chances of winning.
Triple amount of 13,9M combinations would be 41.7M combinations.
And I must

Court hears arguments on $559M lottery winner's plea to remain anonymous
Not her ticket, doesn't want to share with the rest of the lottery pool? How do you spell extremely unlikely. The idea that the other members of the pool would be silent, while this circus goes about it's business is...

Take5 NY
I don't know anybody who is a regular T5 player that knows this (or even cares about it for that matter, but The NY Lottery is counting on players NOT to know it, and that's exactly why they should!) but they split half (50%) of their daily T5 take with players.
For a long time now, they have been taking in about $600,000 per day from people playing T5. Half of that ($300,000) makes up the total prize pool. If there is at least one winner of the jackpot, 20% of the total prize pool ($60,000)

lotto pool
Don't join a lottery pool on the internet. If you want to join a pool, do it with co-workers or friends you trust.
