Do you wait for the PowerBall to get to a certain amount?
I do wait for the jackpot to get up in the 9-figure area simply as a method of budgeting my purchases. Playing every draw can be expensive. And if a better odds game, like Match 6, is up in the I can retire on that range, I won't play Powerball regardless of the jackpot. That, and the fact that 4 out of the last 7 jackpots have been won in places I'm not even allowed to play Powerball (or as I have referred to them in the past, bigot states ) has really got me irked and thinking You've h

How high will MM go this run?
Twisted is right this poll is for MM.... But I think an answer to your theory is that there are probably alot of multi draw tickets purchased during big jackpots, as well as a lot of pools started...If you look at the number of small prize winners that Raven62 puts up on Md's challenges you see that there were about 1.8 million winners winning anywhere from $3 to $21 on the PB 254 million jackpot draw.....Its only natural that most would roll over there wins to the next draw instead of cashin

Lottery mega-jackpots generating less 'buzz'
Guess what, I have been predicting (and hoping for) this for a long time. I would just hope that they don't have to add 50 more balls or change the structure of the game itself too much. Although I would miss the periodic trips to PA. I think the sales got slow because triple-digit jackpots are more frequent (due to both games eating into States' regular Lotto sales) and because most people don't come close on their numbers or they win what turnes out to be a smaller than expected prize i.e.

6 Disturbing Lottery "Trends"
dvdiva writes: If anything Megamillions needs either higher odds or a $2 ticket price. Currently the game is a joke and I haven't bought tickets since Febuary of last year dvdiva, Why do you consider a game that sells tickets for $1 for chance to win a jackpot with a cash value of $6M-$100 a joke? Even if the tickets were $2, it's unlikely the starting jackpots would be much higher. Tonight's jackpot is $33M (cash $19M) and doubt if anyone wins it, they'll be upset about the amount.

Penn. Lottery introduces new 'Mix & Match' game
Well got my first ticket tonight, picked my own numbers. Was a fun and different change of pace. Hope I win the first ever jackpot, then one later on in the millions. The top mix match prize level is pari-mutuel, so the total prize pool available is equally divided among all winning tickets matching all five winning numbers in the same position in which they were drawn. Although I am not very fond of that for such a low starting jackpot. So if 2 people match the first draw, that

Ideal Jackpot Games
From a player's perspective, what Pick 5 and Pick 6 games do you find to be the closest to ideal? This can be based on whatever factors you choose. For me: Pick 5: Pennsylvania's Cash 5 because it frequently has jackpots that roll from $100K up to over $700K and is usually won twice a week. It is a very winnable game. Pick 6: Florida Lotto because it seems to be the last of the old classic lotto games, and it is won 2 to 3 times for month and occasionally grows beyond that. It is a game I

POLL: Sharing jackpot with children
other - I don't have any children! I hope a parent would want to share the wealth, at least the $12,000/yr per person tax exempt gift. I think it would all depend on the prize won. I don't think parents have an obligation to automatically support their grown children, but if you love people I would hope you'd want to help make their lives a little more comfortable. If someone in his 80s or 90s won, it would be nice if he trusted his children enough to let them claim the prize. Although he

Time running out for $1.4 million lottery ticket
When people are on line in front of me playing 100 numbers at a clip, plus 50 scratch-offs, I can understand. People rush through checking tickets and thus more than once I find a $5 or $10 winner tossed aside, one time with three same amounts in plain sight. I made a program to check Crossword tickets (want it, anyone?) and it found one with 5 words, someone only found two of them. Lotto tickets bought on a whim will slip under the seat of the player's vehicle or put aside to check later . The

Lottery counting system
That's the way I decide if an idea about picking numbers is worth considering, I'm sure others have their own ways. I assume you know about my software from my posts in other threads, my software is still a work in progress. I've not only mentioned it in those threads but have even explained it in details when exchanging ideas with other members using PMs. If you've checked my prediction statistics then you know I'm not winning any jackpots or second prizes using it. I don't write anyth
