Lucky For Life
Slightly off-topic: Did you notice that PA rolled out a new $10 scratch-off with $100K/yr/life? It is likely the replacement for Lifetime Riches once they sell off the last winning jackpot ticket. http://www.palottery.state.pa.us/lottery/PALotto/instInfo.asp?i=306 Back on-topic: Lucky for Life could have been a better game if it some kind of a built-in progressive jackpot, perhaps as either the cash option or as another prize level (ie: a bonus ball). It would be theorically possible to ha

Estimates of the highest possible MM, PB jackpots this year.
Yes this is my estimate of how large they could be if nobody wins again this year. We could have several winners of smaller prizes before then. In April and in February, MM produced jackpots of $260M+. The February role produced a cash jackpot - calculated from sales of $160.6M before taxes. I consisted of 15 rolls. The April jackpot had a cash value of $149.2M before taxes and consisted of 14 rolls. The runs were consecutive. Until April there had only been 2 MM winners.

Odds/Number Of Tickets
Thanks for the replies everyone - I didn't know that my question would generate so many responses! I know that no matter how you cut it, luck is the big factor in this. Most of the games have such ridiculous odds that I only play a little just to try to hit the jackpot, but I was just wondering how to maximize my chances. So say Megabucks has a jackpot of 1,000,000 and has odds of roughly 1:5,000,000 and Megamillions has a minimum jackpot of 12,000,000 but the odds are 1:175,000,000. I still

Florida Raffle Ticket Sales Booming
I remember when the FL lottery would elevate the lotto jackpots during the month of December. They would use the unclaimed money during the year to do it. Ticket sales went through the roof! To me, that was a smart marketing idea! But of course they don't do that any more. I wonder what happens to the unclaimed money now?

Florida Raffle Ticket Sales Booming
I want to add that I just read the .pdf file on the rules of the raffle, which are interesting. It describes how they are selecting the prizes. As in any raffle, they'll be drawing the winning tickets in order. 130 tickets will be drawn in order. The first 10 will be awarded the million dollars prize, then 11-30 will win $100,000 each and 31-130 will win $10,000 each. However, after 180 days any top prizes not claimed will be paid to an alternate. That is, anyone who claimed the $100,000 prize

National lottery, or 3d major game?
They need to fix that useless game known as megamillions. Unfortunely I don't think players have any power at all. In fact I don't even think the people running lotteries care what the sales are either. At least when games get privatized they will start caring instead of using their lottery job as a stepping stone to another job. Why have three broken lotteries when we could have one or two that actually work. Euromillions now holds the top two jackpots of the world and both were set this yea

Can Maryland switch to MUSL?
Cash i think Buddy Roogow is still the president of mega millions. i doubt he would jump ship. MEGA Millions is a proven winner in every state, stated Buddy Roogow, president of MEGA Millions. Every state has seen tremendous increases in sales and proceeds as a result of the big jackpots and excitement. A delay on MEGA Millions in California would be a disappointment for players everywhere and a lost opportunity for California. And Buddy Roogow currently serves as Chairman of

SC news: Carolina Plus 6?
www.sceducationlottery.com South Carolina has said they are too small for a classic lotto in-state game. South Carolina was to have joined Lotto South, but negotiations broke down at least in part because of the drawing days. I have no idea if this would be only South Carolina, or would include North Carolina. Maybe a joint Carolinas game would create sizable jackpots. But they should each be pursuing Hot Lotto instead.
