Florida Lottery had big winners this weekend
As long as Jeb Bush is governor (fortunately FL has term limits), FL is not joining a multi-state game. FL's next governor, who will take office next year, needs to allow the state to join Powerball.

Mega millions invention...
MegaMillions lottery started out as the BigGame lottery which was created to compete with the PowerBall lottery which was an improvement of an earlier multi-state game. When The BigGame expanded to include Ohio and New York, it became MegaMillions.

FL Lottery at $82,000,000
Gov Jeb Bush kept Florida out of Powerball when he took office in 1999. Due to term limits, the president's brother will be leaving next year. FL needs a governor who will allow a multi-state game.

FL Lottery at $82,000,000
I always thought Mega would add FL if FL joined a multi-state game. For those wondering it looks like the post-tax cash prize is around $26 million. Still a great prize considering the odds.

t GA-KY-VA Lose for Life
GA won't even offer a cash option. How can a multi-state game have a cash option in two states and be annuity-only in the third?

Ohio Lottery's new game three months without jackpot winner
What OH should have done was partner with Michigan (and possibly other states) with its proposed bi-state game. Lotto South notwithstanding, I'd like to see more multi-state JACKPOT games similar to Hot Lotto.

2005 a trying year for Texas Lottery chairman
If Lotto Texas stops playing their game and go to Powerball, this would be huge for Texas players becoming the only state to have two multi-state games. I hope Texas starts it and then California follows suit by dropping their CA SLP.

lotto tennessee,georgia,south carolina!
Absolutely not. I also think Lotto South should stop for good. I think each state should stay in their multi-state game, not have their own state lotto.

Lotto Georgia vs Lotto South
It'll probably be dropped since it doesn't seem to result in more sales. It's just as easy to keep the game in-state. I think any multi-state successor probably needs to line up a number of states which share state boundaries and draw extra sales from the non-lotterystates in the South.
