Right time to join a lottery Pool or not?
I agree. A contract needs to be drawn up prior to starting a lottery pool. The tickets also need to be photocopied (each participant should have a copy) and tickets placed in a safe place, hopefully a safe. Personally, I would never join a lottery pool, but then, that's just me.

Is it easier to win pick 3 or pick 4 in your own experience?
From probability ratio angle, P3 may seem easier, but P4 is more manageable considering the POOL size. P3 and P4 has the same POOL size (10 digits), assume the game is ' a draw without replacement' then you'll have less twist and turns for P4. The Prize for P4 is also right even for Box hit.

New York Take 5 Strategy
Okay, so what did you use to whittle your picks down to 6 digits from that pool of 23? I'm constantly looking for a way to keep my pool of numbers between 9-12 ...

Cash4Life
Haymaker... Yeah, that's the downside of The PA Millionaire Raffle... tickets are $20 a pop. That's why I run a pool at work for them. There's 8 of us in the pool, we play two times per year on New Years and again on The 4th of July. We each throw in 40 bucks, but because tickets are on sale for about three months, I collect ten bucks every other week until I have 40 bucks from everybody, so it takes 8 weeks until I have $320. (8 x $40) Because there are four top prizes of $1,000,000 we h

Financially Desperate, Ignorant, Greedy And Lazy People Are Playing The Lottery?
Right on Unluckyone, I like your take on it. The super lottery pool dou from Tampa who hosted the $143,000 powerball pool cited their splurge at night clubs as an excuse for throwing in their $500 each on powerball tickets.

$333 MILLION: Powerball offers up summertime riches
If I'm lucky enough to win the jackpot, I don't want to share anything. Unless it's the work pool. Got a couple ladies in it that are fighting cancer and I really hope for our pool to win so they can pay off the med bills.

Back testing systems
There's nothing wrong with back testing systems you find hard to believe have worked in the past but most reasonable systems probably have worked in the past and if played long enough will probably work again in the future. For example if some told me all six winning numbers in a 6/49 game are likely to be in a pool of 35 numbers or more 50% of the time I wouldn't back test it but if they said the same about a pool of 10 numbers I would.

How far back do you search your state lottery?
You have a choice between the POOL size or Statistical combinatorial. Every game has N size with different stats. combo, is easier to focus on the pool inference. P 3 has 1000 sets, that's a history of 2.7 years, so why not filter 999 previous draws for the next draw? This may sound right, but the assumption is wrong, unless you can figure out the exact starting point(1/1000). You can select any time frame for testing, the difficulty lies in your 'PRIOR' Probability.

Do you play alone or in a pool?
I play as a part of an office pool. There are about 12-13 of us and we play when the jackpot hots 100 million or more. I did drive to another state three times to buy a ticket outside of the pool.

Do you play alone or in a pool?
I was doing both for a long time. I started a pool with a friend and it eventually grew to around 13 people. We were buying a mix of Powerball, Lotto, and MegaMillions tickets. I changed jobs so I ended up shutting down that pool. Now I just play by myself.
