Pondering Question...

Actually the 5 + 1 games are two lotteries in one. First you've got to go 5 for 5 on top, then link that into the one right numbetr on the bottom.
Often on the big PB and MM jackpots the PB or MM number is a number that was also in the groupd of five, and most people don't play that way.

Mega Millions lottery jackpot won ... again
It doesn't bother me at all to have small jackpots won more frequently - I wish I could win even the smallest possible jackpot - but it does seem to in strange defying of the odds. I would think eventually there has to be a stretch without a winner that would take it to $400+ million. And who knows, the next drawing could be the start of it.
The difference between MegaMillions and most state games is that even the lowest amount of $12 million will make you set for life (if you aren't an i

The beginnings of a pan-lottery system
Sun's creeping back over that moon surface.
Should have reached the solar collectors and began recharging the batteries day-before yesterday, or early yesterday. Ought to have them cranked up pretty well and doing their trick during the next couple of days.
Certainly ought to be a lot of jackpots won this week all over the spectrum, but maybe it will also be LottoMike's big week for a 5 of 5. Maybe some others, too.

Probability of a Rollover in Powerball.
I accidentally placed this in the wrong thread.
Powerball has rolled over. The cash value is 70.7M, the annuity jackpot is $155M. Although the upcoming roll is a 12th draw, the jackpot size is now equivalent to an average 13th draw. The average sales for a thirteen draw are $28.9M.
If this is the number of tickets that sell, the randomized probability for various numbers of winner is:
082.04%
116.24%
21.61%
30.11%
40.01%
A long term mixed line

$1 million rollover in NY Lotto
ny lotto game stinks anyway, how do they expect people to play their game if the jackpots are so small and go up by only 1 mil.i run a lottery terminal and people say which is higher? its always MM cause they start at 12 mil, plus the fact the prize payouts for lotto stink,3 nums you get 1.00 lol , and 4 nums your lucky to get 30 bucks and thats hard to get,1 thing they can do is let the bonus ball mean something,it only counts if you have 5 nums+ BB,make the BB count for all prize levels, i tell

Mega Millions hit again!
Being smart has nothing to do with it. Powerball had added a much larger population base to it's players yet didn't change the odds. They had a long string of low jackpots then corrected the problem by changing the odds. Megamillions added the largest state and miscalculated the needed odds.
It also doesn't help that several of the Mega states continue to grow in population. I don't think they will fix it soon however due to the way Mega handles it's business. I'd say maybe they will do some

where do you purchase lottery tickets
I buy local lottery tickets all over town, that way I'm the only one who knows how much I spend, how often I play and how much I win or lose. When I cash in my winning tickets, the clerks don't know me well enough to expect a tip. Since I cash my tickets where I buy them, I will return to the same place several times during a winning streak.
In the past when I traveled to Indiana to buy PB tickets, I always bought them at the same grocery store because its terminal was always up and there w

When NY Lotto 59 is retired
With the jackpots $4 million (instead of $5 million) after ONE rollover, it's obvious that NY Lotto is still losing sales over four years after NY started offering Mega Millions. The recent shutdown of the New Jersey Lottery didn't help NY much.
I'm thinking it will be sooner rather than later that NY Lotto 59 will be history. The current NY Lotto had its first drawing the night after 9/11. In case you're wondering, I think more and more lottery players agree with me that NY Lotto is a ripoff

claiming lottery winnings
I didn't vote because 'Within 12 hours following the draw' wasn't one of the options.
Big jackpots, unclaimed prizes, rolls, and high speed races from Jal, New Mexico to Albuquerque leaving a trail of dead cows, elk, coyotes and the occasional space alien (Roswell) would add excitement to the game.
I'd almost move to Jal for that.

MM's low sales
I don't recall which it was at the moment, but one of the two, Gargantuan, or Pentagruel, had 41 rolls last year and paid 6 jackpots.
You figure it out.
