maximun capacity of players....
50% of sales going to the States is no big secret, it written in their laws and clearly stated on most of their websites. On most of the states websites for PowerBall and MegaMillions it's stated that 32% of local sales goes to the jackpot pool, 18% goes to pay off the local winners of 5+0 and less and the rest goes to the states. This formula didn't change when the matrix of both games changed. The matrix was changed to increase the odds of the jackpots getting bigger before being hit. A la

Tx Two Step
I always look around other states lottery websites to see whats happening in the lottery world. TX's Two Step has the largest jackpot ever in the history of the game. $2,000,000. All cash. I have seen the jackpots to that game before and they barely get over $500,000. The odds of hitting it are about 1 in 1.8 million so you would actually buy a win now. Brad

Lotto 649 Jackpot at $22 Million
Have you read https://www.lotterypost.com/thread/130616.htm you and Amazing Grace are trying to prove the same thing. My observations of lotteries in the USA are that most big jackpots are won by a single person or shared by a couple and where pools are involved, 20% of the time there is a depute because someone is trying to get over as the expense of others in the pool. I don't play in a pool but if I did it would only be with people I personally saw and trusted every day like family and co

$853,492 gone
I've read that the total in the United States is in the BILLIONS but I doubt if that's just for one year. I've seen huge jackpots go unclaimed. It's unusual, but about 3 years ago we had a $30M jackpot here that expired. Usually the money gets put back into the pot, but Jeb suggested it go to a college fund. I was thinking that figure doesn't include the scratch tickets, at least until the games have ended. If someone buys an instant game ticket and doesn't claim it, how would anyone know?

What all this money means to ME is....
To me money is a means by which to pay for goods and services. Seems like you can never have to much of it the more you have the more you end up spending. I try and spend within my means. Prices for everything keep going up and up, every generation will have to deal with rising costs. Before long at the rate were going either the bottom will fall out or they will have to re structure the whole economic way of life. Not an easy task I hate to see what people will have to deal with 20/30 years dow

why play the pick 4?
I actually agree with the author. I used to play pick 4 a lot, and even pick 3, and have won enough. But I still seem to win more playing the jackpot games then I did with the smaller games. I also play lottery games that provide a chance at a total life transformation (jackpots) and very rarely play the pick 3 and 4's anymore. For awhile I was getting absolutely no return on them, and more return on jackpot games. Maybe that is a good thing. But I never play any more than about 2 pick 3's a

Hot Lotto
Quote: Originally posted by Just6ntlc on March 17, 2006 My vote is yes. Kansas was a HL member effective March 12th. However, I'm disappointed that HL is computerized. They use a Random Number Generator now because they wanted to save money by removing a few ball machines. I say yes also. Nebraska and Oklahoma are now under pressure to offer it. North Carolina (itself a MUSL state) starting its lottery might force Tennessee and/or South Carolina into adding an online game. Remember that Lot

simply can't get no closer than this!
I could care less about fantasy picks here, I put little effort into them. For your information mikey I am not even picking the numbers for the whole two draws or so I tried, an RNG did. Unlike you I actually invest my effort into real draws. I simply use RNG's here for fun. Since you're so good at picking numbers though, how many REAL jackpots have you won? That is what I thought. You are the one with the paranoia, and defensive undertone. I simply state facts. Wow my number came up today

$200,000 N.M. Powerball lottery ticket expires
It's not uncommon for a lottery ticket to go unclaimed. I've seen multi-million $$$ jackpots expire. It's not my money, so I don't know why I get so annoyed, but it's become one of my pet peeves. I simply will never understand why anyone would buy a lotto ticket without knowing the rules or toss it a drawer or a pants pocket. Maybe the winner thought he had more time since the rules are different in each state. I mentioned last week that a $184,000 Fantasy Five ticket expired locally. There's

This isnt suppossed to happen
Experts say there are a lot fewer combinations with 4-6 sequential numbers than there are combinations without them therefore the winning combinations are less likely to be one of them, they neglect to mention the chances of matching any combination is the same regardless of the numbers in it. They also say never play birthday numbers because winners will likely have to share the jackpot, concluding it's better to win nothing than share a jackpot. Fact is most jackpots won with low numbers
