April's Big Jackpots
For Megamillions, no. I doubt it will hit 300 and certainly not roll again once it passes that mark. It will be another year of disappointment for Megamillion jackpots.
For Powerball it might hit the cap again at 390 but still can't break a record because of the lousy annuity they have.
I think the real winner this year on pots will be Euro Millions.

If a nationwide game comes along....
I have been thinking about this and if for some reason MM and PB merge into one game I don't think they would raise the odds more than what MM has now. 1 in 175+million is long enough odds as it is. But one thing they should do it raise the price from $1 to $2. They can keep the odds the same as Mega Millions and with the $2 price you would expect people to buy half the amount of tickets that they do now. Not only that but more money would be able to go to the jackpot and it would create Meg

Powerball to roll 2 faster !
There is absolutely no way of knowing when it will get popped.
Also, if lottery sales are higher than other times of they year, another way of looking at that would be more play, more likely someone hits and it doesn't roll over.
I think it's the big jackpots that generate more sales though, not the time of the year.

Would u try to remain anonymous?
There are few states in which a person can remain anonymous, and with the giant jackpots like PB MM I know reporters would be seeking me out, but I would try my best to stay out of the spotlight. Even when a lawyer creates a trust for a lottery winner in Florida, they still list the actual names of the winner(s) because it is a matter of public record.
Like the other members above wrote, changing your phone number or simply getting away for a while is probably the best thing to do. You can

Unclaimed lottery winnings
I read an article recently that said 12% of lottery winnings are never claimed. The unclaimed money is kept by the lottery.
So when a lottery says that lottery players have won 40% of the lottery money, since 12% of that 40% is never claimed, doesn't that mean only about 35% (40% minus [12% of 40%]) of the lottery money is actually returned to the lottery players?
It seems to me that the only fair thing for them to do is to put that money back into the jackpots.

Mega Millions Sets A New Record
The Mega Millions lottery set a new 14 roll record of $256 million for the Feb 28 draw. The previous Mega Millions record was $239 million and it was set under the old matrix.
To show how quickly large jackpots are growing, under the Big Game matrix, the 14 roll record was $90 million.
The Powerball 14 roll record is $183.1 million.

quick pick or your own numbers
Quote: Originally posted by jote on February 23, 2006 I choose my own numbers. quick pic will give you crapy numbers. numbers that are most likely to be loosers. The way i play is I choose two numbers from 1-20 and three numbers from 20-54--- it seems to work for me . I hit 4 of the 5 whiteballs in the last powerball drawing. I won 400 bucks which wasn't that bad. Just one away from the 800,000$, that realy is bad. I don't think I am going to be lucky anytime soon.
Oh really? The facts se

If you are going to buy 46+ tickets.....
But people don't shell how that much for $15 million. Thats the thing with lotteries, they as just as pshcyological as they are montary. The huge jackpots is what gets peoples attention and that is when they buy more tickets. That is why it is always won after getting huge attention. And if people were spending $40+ when the jackpot was at $15 million the jackpot would never be that low. But people don't buy those amounts at that low level.
Please explain to me that if you buy all the

jackpot lottery pool
Yea we should have an LP poll. Everyone send me $5 for next draw. Would be an interesting idea, but I also avoid pools for the most part, as I do not wish to split a jackpot with too many others. Especially smaller jackpots. At the most I pool up with one family member once in awhile.
I prefer to play myself though, as their is less financial obligation to others. But it is actually hard to find anyone as serious about the lottery as I am, most only play once in awhile on whims....you know
