Learning Something New Everyday
Watching CNN cover the PB Jackpot over the holiday, I learned something about Lottery Officials. Someone from the Nebraska Lottery actually stated that when the winner came forward, if they didn't have proper legal and financial representatives, they would recommend appropriate names and places. I guess they are tired of all the horror stories about winners blowing Jackpots, and its to the Lottery Assn. interest to have positive stories about people handling their Sudden Wealth in appropriate

Mega Millions Hit
The just won $365M jackpot only cost me money; zero financial gain to me. The only spotlight that interests me is the one on me. I would be as happy with 26 jackpots a year, as I would with one. As long as I won one of them.
A $999M jackpot is a waste of time, if I don't win it. The bonus would be great for Lottery Directors. The stores would be happier with higher sales. The on-line services would be happy as pigs in mud. The newspapers, radio, and television would hype it all day,

alittle odd...
The odds against hitting 5 + 1 or against 6 for 6 are a constant, the jackpots change is all.
You would think the more play, the more winners but it's just more proof that there is no such thing as a lock.

$420 million of lottery jackpots in two days
Maybe you didn't have your morning coffee before you posted it? As soon as I read it I thought there's no way it took 3 months for the jackpot to reach 120 million, so I checked. All of the recent jackpots in the 250+ range have taken about two months to get there. Powerball would be limited by the rollover cap, but a 3 month dry spell with Megamillions will probably mean the first billion dollar jackpot, or it will show us that the number of tickets sold stops going up shortly past the 300 m

I'm sick of lottery dreams!!
Every time the Mega Millions or Powerball have high jackpots, i go and buy tickets. I always get these dreams of winning the lottery and wake up empty handed and depressed. What size house?
In the spirit of the yacht question, what size house would you buy if you won the PB or MM jackpots? 6000 sq ft? 10000 sq ft? 15000 sq ft? Bigger? What's your dream house like? Do you have anything picked on on realtor.com or would you want to build something from scratch exactly the way you want it?
I'd probably buy land and build my dream house. I don't think it would be bigger than 10000 sq ft and there would be marble in the foyer and in the bathrooms. Lots of hardwood. Brick an

As hypersonig said, a system can be back tested and evaluated without spending any money. If someone insists on using a system that has never worked then it's not the system

At what point (matrix) would you not play
Certain rules of business apply to any business.
Competition always benefits the consumer, just something for the lotto people to think about.
One thing I can think of wopuld be to let people know when all the top prizes on a given scratcher have been paid out (besides just finding that out on the internet).
Another would be mandatory press releases for any matrix expansion- MegaMillions fed articles to the media about California joininh in and possible $500,000,000 jackpots - but it

the future of mega millions and powerball
Coin Toss: Who needs $200 million or so anyway? And the apparent curse that goes with it.
My feelings exactly. I've said it before..if I won about $5M I'm sure I'd be set for life, probably start a small business I enjoy, and then I could spend my spare time volunteering. I've known people who suddenly had so much money it made them miserable (I can't imagine, but it happens)
Anyway, I voted no, but I'd rather vote I hope not. I know monster jackpots attract more people, but I'll ne
