Gift Taxes
Somehow I lost part of my post. I wasn't telling people to commit tax fraud, but remarking on how wealthy people spend money so freely, like $10,000 or more on shopping sprees, so it would be unlikely a few thousand here and there would be missed if you were worth tens of millions. Gosh, I'm getting paranoid..like the IRS reads these posts?? I'm so poor, if they showed up at my place they'd probably pay me money! But seriously, a good tax attorney could give the best advice. That being said, I

Record Jackpot Claimed, question!
Actually, there are severe limitattions of actual money tranfer within a family. Spouses are generally aceptable. Children are not and parents are not. Its that death tax thing. Its why Trust Funds were created, otherwise the rich could just pass checks around all day. Also, there is that pesky little phrase, intent to commit fraud. Some one transfers everything to the child, or spouse, the day before they die of cancer, bet your booty there is going to be a long, long, court case.

Winning lottery ticket purchased with stolen credit card
The cops got away with nothing; there was nothing to get away with. They are only investigating the incident. The article is about a woman using a dead person s credit card. You, therefore, would be dead, and would sue no one for using your credit card. Exactly! There was no mention of bad police conduct anywhere in that article. It was just about a woman commiting fraud. I really don't see how this got turned on to the people investigating this women. lol.

McDonalds Monopoly Game
I had to laugh when McDonalds' launched another Monopoly game. After waiting only a few years from the fraud and scandal/scam of the previous Monopoly games they had. This scam had insiders getting the big winning games pieces...for once they got caught. This kind of thing probably happens a lot more than you think. But this time they got caught.List of Prizes Allegedly Won By Fraudulent Means from Monopoly and Millionaire Games (This may not be complete):1996 Dodge Viper $100,00 (2) One M

Sign the petition - eliminate computerized drawings!
I find it interesting if a state is willing to go to computerized multi state lotteries and feel they are safe , how do these same states justify not being able to buy tickets online within your OWN state because of all the fraud potential. (if you write your state lottery that doesn't sell tickets online and ask them why you can't buy a subscription online from them, listen to what they tell you)---it sounds like a contradiction to the security of computerized drawings. Maybe this point can

Prime ticket service
Prime time has a security feature during registration , fortunately it was through my bank. (maybe all banks are represented) It was for internet purchases. I had to answer a series of questions, like what is your dog's name. Due to the nature of the purchase red flag - lottery tickets - some banks got your back and many charge a small fee. When I attempted to used my debit card to become a premium member of Lottery Post, my bank declined it over and over. I am a pay as you go person and I di

A Circle K clerk in Nogales, Arizona is accused of stealing a lottery ticket and then collecting the $1 million winnings. The Attorney General's Office says the ticket was one of several that a man had brought in to the clerk's store to check to see if he had won anything.Authorities allege that clerk Delia Kerr returned the other tickets to the man, but kept the jackpot-winning The Pick ticket. The man didn't know he had won the jackpot, but complained to the store manager that one of his ticke

Hoosier Lottery insists computers are better than ball drawings
Coming from Texas anything I could point to would sound kind of laughable, but I will put in my two bits anyway.I suspect that all states are trying to squeeze as much as possible out of players. The more the lottery commissions get, the more they want. Things can only go so far before the players wake up and smell the fraud. We can blame the politicians for this squeeze between dreamland and reality. They want to buy more votes, but they don't want to raise taxes and possibly lose their jobs.

Follow-Up: Couple’s lottery 5-week winning streak was simple luck
Quoting the article, Jeffrey Hintz told auditors he spent thousands of dollars on lottery tickets every week and countless hours stamping envelopes with the lottery s address so he could enter losing tickets in the weekly drawings. And once again, Another retailer said Hintz typically buys $30 to $100 in tickets a day. A grocery store employee said Hintz would buy $70 a day over his lunch break, and he sometimes spends $400 at a time on tickets. I'm not too worried about possibility of frau

Maryland Lottery a case study in the science of random numbers
from that link...(thanks, atlasshrugged) The authorities arrested him for fraud. I know you glass-half-full types say but they let him go . I'm sure he could have found a more enjoyable use for his time than spending even a minute in the clink. To the exact algorithm thing, usually they handle it like other contests where vendors, their relatives, advertisers, their relatives, etc. are not allowed to participate, lest someone get what our Canadian friend got - minus the payout. Or worse, a huma
