Finally - Real ticket services
I know there have been a lot of people who have been asking me about when I would find a quality replacement for the old PlayLot sites. Well, I've finally found it, and I've posted the links on the left side of the page. The company has been around a long time, servicing a smaller [offline] client le, but has recently expanded to the Internet. I actually has to hold off on posting links until they were satisfied that their Internet service would match the quality experience that their offline

Unclaimed New Mexico Powerball jackpot fuels speculation
The lucky and still unknown winner of Wednesday's $93.4 million Powerball jackpot bought the winning ticket in the Albuquerque area, the New Mexico Lottery revealed Friday. The lottery would say only that the ticket was sold at one of about 400 area retailers. When lottery headquarters in Albuquerque locked its doors for the weekend at 4:30 p.m. Friday, the winner or winners of the $1-a-pop game played around the nation had not been in to claim the prize. The winning ticket must be presented a

$93.4 million Powerball lottery winner is New Mexico's third
Good suggestions.I'm run a small lottery pool with 3 coworkers and we've talked about the possibility of winning and what we will do if it happens. Before claiming, we plan to get a financial advisor so we can plan for the future and an attorney to help us with the legal stuff in addition to claiming the winnings on our behalf. We plan on using a trust or corporation to claim it, so our names will be kept out of the newspapers. I know this isn't 100% privacy, but it helps. After we get our mon

Powerball sales skid hurts lottery profits
There's probably a lot of truth to what you're saying. Someone's making multi-state decisions biased in favor of lousy odds and unimaginable jackpots. Those decisions have to be based on some sort of reasoning, which can certainly be influenced by self-interest.Someone's pushing the envelope, choosing to believe that there's a huge pool of potential ticket buyers out there who won't buy tickets for a $25 million jackpot, but will do so for a $200 million one. It's obvious from some percentage

Powerball sales skid hurts lottery profits
Here's my thoughts:1. If CT decides to drop Powerball, it would be a blow to the MUSL, because, IMHO, they are already suffering due to the popularity of MM. Implementing a matrix change now for no other reason than higher jackpots (and a higher 1st prize, also like MM) just looks like copying, and CT should drop it. This is the only reason MUSL is citing for a change, and if CT doesn't like it, sever the ties and drop out. Of course, get voter approval first, or they'll likely piss a lot of pe

Texas Lottery critic turns down selection committee post
In defense of Dawn Nettles.Folks who live here in Texas appreciate the fact that she attends every lottery commission meeting. She speaks for the players. Over the years, she has been insulted and mistreated by a lottery staff, including the commission, that has been trying to shut her up for a long time. One technique the commission uses is to make a quick change in order of business almost every time she leaves the room for personal reasons. Further, they often deny or delay her requests for in

Who Would Make The Best LD?
Guys I'm going to list some things I would do if I was LD for the state of TN. I'm not doing this in order to win votes. I want people to understand my views just so that everyone will know how I feel.Scratch games- I would have scratchers from $1,$2,$3,$5,$10. Even though I would like to have $20 I'm drawing the line at $10. Top Prizes would range from $500-$500,000. Maybe $1 Million. Average odds $1 1:4. $2 1:3.9. $3 1:3.5. $5 1:3.1. $10 1:2.6. I would have a normal Pick 3 and Pick 4 g

Texas Lottery paid for goods it never received
The embattled Texas Lottery Commission is investigating why the agency paid a Nevada company more than $300,000 for goods it hasn't received. The lottery's purchasing department authorized an advanced payment to JB Associates in February 2004 to buy promotional items such as umbrellas, coffee mugs and vinyl wallets, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported in its online edition today.JB, based in Reno, Nev., received at least $332,427, but the lottery said it is still owed about $311,000 in undeli
