Matrix v population
ryan:FL _will_ eventually go multi-state.As for games being too large, perhaps Lotto Texas is. They should go back to the 6/54 game, but not to the original 6/50.

TN LOTTERY poll
I doubt a state like TEnn will draw on Sundays for a long time, but six days will come soon. Secondly a state like Tenn dont need a pick 6 lotto, why bother having rolls of 100k or so. I think it would be best served to join a multi state pick 6 game.

Super Lotto South
ichoro:I read that SC agreed to joining a multi-state regional lotto game, which of course is LS. I don't know why they still don't have it, whether it's the small matrix, or the draw nights. I agree LS should switch to Mon-Thu to get out of the shadows of MM and PB.

Oklahoma Lottery votes to join Powerball
diva:Of the states without a multi-state game, only FL and NC have large populations. I would suppose MUSL hasn't given up on FL since Jeb Bush kept FL out of Powerball.

N.C. Lottery Bill Passed by Senate
I think while either multi-state game would be good for people living in NC, I think Mega Millions would do a better job at attracting out-of-state players (particularly the Greenville-Spartanburg, SC area). Powerball might attract a few players out of the Hampton Roads area, but not as much as Mega would attract Upstate SC players.

N.C. Governor Signs Historic Lottery Bill
It'll be maybe be 6 months to a year. No matter what, we have the lotto I'll still go to SC until we have a multi-state game. They might have to educate NC on how to play, if they haven't gone over to SC, VA, GA or TN.

Powerball lottery changes go into effect Sunday
smd173, I had proposed 44 to 46 PB in addition to the 55 WBs for these reasons. First, PB had the 5/45+1/45 matrix where they draw a red PB out of 45 before November 1997. I wanted the odds much worse so PB can compete with Mega Millions to see which multi-state game will eventually pass the North American jackpot record of 363 million. Besides only $1 can win a jackpot.

Maryland Lottery to replace classic Lotto game
The competition from MegaMillions and Powerball is hurting the state lotteries. Maryland's decision to replace their high-end lotto game is mentioned. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20050827/ap_on_bi_ge/lagging_lotteries With several multi-state lotteries (Powerball, Lotto South, Hot Lotto, etc.) competing head to head on the Wednesday/Saturdays slot, I wonder if there's a coming shakeout where those smaller games will fold. It'd be a shame to have nothing but games with odds of 1 in 150 million o

Calif. lottery director resigns
I was impressed that Mega Millions, a multi-state United States lotto game, let CA as long as they don't involve Internet gambling or be part of the world lottery.I have no idea what that means.

Calif. lottery director resigns
I hope that CA Governor Schwarzengger gets a permanent lotto director to replaced the acting lotto director and retired Guitierriez. I wonder what happened to CA lottery director Tony Molica? I was impressed that Mega Millions, a multi-state United States lotto game, let CA as long as they don't involve Internet gambling or be part of the world lottery.
