Can You Remain a Virtual Unknown?
How about those of us who want to just-be-alone when we win the big one! Now, I am not talking about $1 million or $ 5 million dollars -- but the big jackpots: save $50 million or more. The newspapers, television, and the radio just cannot get enough of blasting your name and your town (depending upon where you live) to the public. Actually, do those big winners REQUEST TO REMAIN ANONYMOUS? Or, do the lottery officials exclaim: we really don't give a damn, it's the general public's right to

Vent your displeasure - CANADIAN 649
Shlep,I do not want to discourage your campaign to complain about the new price, but I think that the only thing the lottery corporations will pay attention to is sales. If sales go down, then they will get rid of or change the $2 ticket price. If sales go up or stay level, then nothing will change. Sales speak louder than complaints. This is why the original 649 game was changed. Sales were going down year after year. They had to do something. One option was to reduce the guaranteed minimum jac

Texas Lotto Jumps to $100 Million
Texans will have a chance for a record jackpot of an estimated $100 million on Saturday after there were no winners last night in the Lotto Texas drawing.Wednesday's jackpot totaled $87 million, topping the record $85 million set in 2001. The jackpot, which hasn't been hit since February, is now the highest jackpot in the country, even outpacing the multistate game Mega Millions, which has an estimated $85 million jackpot after no one won Tuesday's drawing. But hold on to those letters of resigna

Steiner System For Pick-5 Lottos
Too many questions in one lump for me tonight. Take some time to study the post by RJOh. Two thousand draws and only one five number win where the Bonus number and or key number could have come into play.A system like this is fine for a lotto club interested in looking like they know what they are doing by winning small prizes. Larger prizes and jackpots are actually harder to win with a split wheel due to the hyper geometric distribution. When you look back at the last hundred draws you cou

Arizon Lottery increases sales 12% this year
People like Bob Haney of Buckeye are helping the Arizona Lottery ring up big sales this fiscal year - sales that were running 12.2 percent ahead of the previous fiscal year through three quarters.Haney's not a big player, but a regular one hoping for that big hit on his favorite game. If you don't play, they can't pay, he said after buying tickets Friday at the Lottery's main office in Phoenix. Just like the (slot machines) or something, you never know what's going to turn up. New Jeresey couple wins huge Powerball lottery jackpot
Quote: Originally posted by qutgnt on May 19, 2004Quick pick strikes again, proves the lottery is dumb luck. If your system works then it was dumb luck, just like a quick pick. The lottery is an indepedent dvent with a horrible house take that can never be beat in long run unless you hit a monster jackpot! The quick pick only struck again because 70% of winning tickets are quick picks in which case you can safely assume that 70% of tickets sold are quick picks. Isn't it then more likely that th

Kentucky losing lottery sales to Tennessee
Kentucky Lottery officials say they have their first hard evidence that Tennessee's new lottery has chipped away at their income: Kentucky lost about $1.85 million in the $213 million Powerball drawing on May 8.Before Tennessee's lottery started on Jan. 20, Kentucky officials estimated that 11 percent of all Kentucky lottery tickets were purchased by Tennessee residents crossing the border to buy them. The Tennessee Lottery started with a few scratch-off games but has been steadily building its o

Study: Brain Prefers Working for Cash
It's nicer when you actually earn it.Lottery winners, trust-fund babies and others who get their money without working for it do not get as much satisfaction from their cash as those who earn it, a study of the pleasure center in people's brains suggests.Emory University researchers measured brain activity in the striatum - the part of the brain associated with reward processing and pleasure - in two groups of volunteers. One group had to work to receive money while playing a simple computer gam
