I think it WILL increase sales because there are now 4 drawings a week in each state, instead of 2. Many people will play all 4, instead of previously just playing 2. Some cannibalism will occur, as people shift dollars from one game to another, but overall sales will go up.

Mega Millions or Powerball will reach Half a Billion.Reply
RJOh said it pretty good. The jackpots will increase faster. That has already been seen so far. The more people in, the quicker a winner. When the jackpots get higher, the more probability for mutiple winners now as well. We'll seldomly see many Jackpots anywhere close to $300 million like we've seen in the past at times. But that can be a good thing too. More money, for more people faster. That would work for me.

Increase, I am sick of winter and being stuck at home! Living out in the county, I have a downhill driveway followed by an unpaved road to traverse...and that's just to get to the hard-top! The two front tires on my car are slick and I doubt that it will see the open road again until spring. Maybe if it would stay above freezing long enough, most of this stuff will melt and we can get back to normal.

In order for Mega-Millions to be truly competitive with Powerball they will have to increase thier payout amount which they dont BTW..! With Powerball you can win a million bucks with the power-play option something you cannot do with Mega-Millions....
