Looks to me like they are just replacing the first digit with a different one myself from the combination 123 to make a new combonation just using the base number 123..

cariborder,More info is needed to decipher this riddle. Are the four groups from 1-9 for each of the four positions of the pick 4 game? What method is used to pick starting number for each position? What is the criteria for selecting numbers for the formula?My initial guess is that a previously drawn pick-4 number becomes the seed or base number off of which you make your plays.
