EXCLUSIVE: Weeks-long computerized draw error prevented many DC Lottery tickets from winning a prize
You guys really dont get it! Those numbers weren't sold out because so many players caught on ... it's because it was planned! Where else can you get a 60% return on your investment twice a day??? Someone with dee-e-e-e-p pockets was in on this one. Wonder if they were laundering their Somalian Daycare profits? I hope that LP will follow up and tell us where all those tickets were purchased (and how many). And no Todd, I'm not a conspiracy theorist. Just dont trust RNGs or any gambling that give

$10M Mega Millions Win!
You cut the odds in half each time you double the number of unique combinations purchased. 1 ticket = 1 in 290 million, 2 tickets = 1 in 145 million, 4 tickets = 1 in 72.6 million, 8 tickets = 1 in 36.3 million, etc.
It's a really simple formula: (number of tickets in your possession)/290472336.
If you buy 290,472,336 unique combinations, you are GUARANTEED to win the jackpot. You'll also collect millions of dollars in lower prizes. Of course, at that point, you're no longer gambling, yo

People think gambling is risky.
For me, gambling is a source of entertainment. Or maybe it's a diversion. To be honest, I really don't know what it is or why I gamble.
I never think about value when I buy a lottery ticket. That's because I know playing the lottery is a suckers bet. It hard for me to think about value because the odds are so badly stacked against me, and they're same regardless of the size of the jackpot. (As is the price of one line on a ticket whether it's 1, 2, 3 or 5 dollars)
I never bet over my he

Are you playing Mega Millions with the $5.00 per play?
The sales numbers were appalling lower, both in revenue and in tickets sold.
It's pure nonsense to say that it improved the profit margin. This isn't widgets. It gambling. The prize payout percentages are not appreciably different.
The gamble of raising the price to gamble isn't paying off. The competition, which is Powerball, is obviously a better deal.
Even as the prize approached a billion dollars, the expectation value didn't even get to 0.5. At a jackpot a little over half a bi

Five dollar MM
People are willing to spend more on scratchers because the odds of winning something are far higher -- about 1 in 4. A $5 ticket that wins $5 can be replayed. A $10 win can be replayed for two more tickets. That initial price can buy you multiple chances to win a lot of money and you only have to be moderately lucky because most of the prize money is at the lower end which is easier to win.
Megamillions has a low chance of winning the smallest prize, very low chances of winning more than the

Based on this concept, we can create a powerful filter system. Here's a proposal:
Filter System to Optimize Lottery Bets
1. Ishikawa Diagram (Cause and Effect Analysis)
The Ishikawa diagram, also known as the fishbone diagram, helps identify the possible causes that affect the outcome of your bets. The main categories could be:
Number Selection Strategies: Do you always bet on the same numbers? Do you use birthdays? Do you choose even/odd numbers or multiples of a number?

Are you playing Mega Millions with the $5.00 per play?
I totally agree that it's people who make things a headache. If I were to win something like Powerball, the majority would go into laddered treasury bills, with some in an S P 500 index fund. The last thing I would do is start my own business or invest in any sort of risky business venture. People go broke because they think this sudden windfall of money has given them some sort of insight on how to invest, start or run a business. If you weren't doing any of that before winning the lottery jack

eating every type of food to their heart's desire
I'm slightly worried that winning the lottery and being able to buy $50 worth of fine chocolate every week with just pocket change might be a problem.
Well, the greatest nation on earth , aka USA, can't afford to let us walk away with a single penny.
States already skim 40 to 60% of the price of each ticket, so also taxing winnings is definitely greedy, and might even reduce sales enough to cancel out the tax revenue. The federal g
