Mega Millions jackpot closes in on $1 billion
The rush of ticket sales over the next few days may propel the jackpot to an even higher amount before the drawing tales place. Now that's funny. Ever since Mega Millions jacked up the price to $5.00, sales have crashed. There is no rush. The last time we were around $1,000,000,000 was when the ticket cost $2.00 and they sold 100,000,000 tickets. For Tuesday 11/11/2025 Mega Millions drawing only 19 million tickets were sold. There won't be any rush as many people can't afford $5

Mega Millions and Powerball Race
The Mega Millions jackpot increased by $15 million to $473 million after 25 rolls. This is the first time in several rolls the Mega Millions jackpot did not set a new roll record for the current format of the game. It was shy by $1 million in tying the record. The small jackpot increase was mainly because there was a drop in interest rates. There is an estimated 2.3% chance the Mega Millions jackpot will be won in the next draw. The Mega Millions jackpot continues to grow at a slower pace th

Michigan man claims record $32.9 million Lotto 47 jackpot with numbers he's used for 20 years
Well he got some of my $s. Anyway this is just the record for the Classic 47 version of the game. The all time record for Michigan 6/XX games is 45 some odd millions divided by, I believe, 3 tickets.

Mega Millions and Powerball Race
There has been considerable criticism of Mega Millions for the slow growth of its jackpot, with many attributing the issue to the ticket price increase. However, the reverse may be true: the price hike could have been a response to slowing sales rather than the cause of them. Powerball is facing a similar trend. The current jackpot of $681 million was reached after 34 consecutive rollovers. In comparison, the record jackpot after 34 rolls is $1,565 million more than double the current amou

Mega Millions and Powerball Race
The Mega Millions jackpot has increased by $43 million to $843 million after 37 consecutive rolls and is the largest Mega Millions jackpot since December 2024. This jackpot increase is surprisingly less than the previous increase. There is a 4.6% chance the jackpot will be won in the November 7 draw with projected sales of $70.3 million. This is the highest sales since the launch of the new game. The Mega Millions jackpot is starting to grow faster than Powerball as evidenced in only the las

Mega Millions and Powerball Race
If the Mega Millions jackpot rolls four more times, it will break the 36 roll record for Mega Millions. The odds the jackpot is won in the next draw is about 3.3%. Lets say the odds for each of the next fours draws averages out to 3.5%, then the odds the jackpot rolls at least 4 more times is about 87%. The Powerball record is 41 rolls.

Here is something else that is missing - Date Workup hits. My records for this workup only extend back to the beginning of 2019, but since I have been keeping tabs, the furthest out a Date workup hit has been was about 68 days. Previously, that was far and away the furthest out. The next furthest gap was 44 days or so. But now we have blown past the old record by more than a week, at 79 days! And counting! That is well over two months without a Date workup hit, when we normally get three or so h

Mega Millions and Powerball Race
Even though Powerball is clearly winning this race, the Powerball jackpot is growing at much lower rates than its record runs. Lottery sales for the big national games are down. This is probably the main reason the Mega Millions game was recently changed. Many of the Powerball records were set when the draws were held twice a week. When they went to three draws per week, naturally sales per draw went down. The current Powerball jackpot at $426 million was reached after 27 rolls. But, the 27

Mega Millions and Powerball Race
The Mega Millions jackpot is now $302 million. The difference between the Mega Millions jackpot and the Powerball jackpot increased again by only $1 million. This is the third time in a row, the difference between the two jackpots increased by exactly $1 million. Sales are definitely down since both jackpots are growing slower than they used to. Mega Millions has reached $302 million after 17 rolls. The 17 roll jackpot record for Mega Millions is $489 million (62% larger). The Powerball jac

Virginia - May 2025
One other thing I meant to mention. Back on February 1st, we started tracking a straight number, 233, which had been missing since August 20, 2024 in all the states/provinces/islands that Lottery Post covers. At the time, 233 was more than 12,000 draws cold! That's really very cold for a pick 3 lottery number. 233 finally fell straight a month later on March 1st (in California). It was 13,976 draws cold, an all-time record as far as I could determine. My point is, if we don't get a trip bef
