Address Confidentiality Program Authorization Card
North Carolina Lottery permits winners to remain anonymous in some circumstances. Would this work in other states? Q: If I should win a large top prize, do I have the option of remaining anonymous with regard to the media and the public? A: The NCEL will consider a winner s name, city/county, and the prize amount a matter of public record, unless the winner produces a valid protective order or Address Confidentiality Program authorization card.

$450 MILLION: Powerball lottery jackpot nears record
A SECURITY FIRM? Come on, now..... First, if you live in a state where you can remain anonymous...you can remain anonymous. Otherwise, agree you have to be extremely careful, but how many major JP winners over the years, even with their names made public, have had genuine security issues, at least ones that made headlines? Not many. After a period of time, the winning names get forgotten or at least put on the shelf until the next huge JP winner comes along.

What state will win the Mega Millions jackpot
I like that policy, never heard anyone from Delaware complain about it. I don't think they care where you're from, anonymous is anonymous. Well I broke down and bought a MM ticket, LOL I forgot to ask for the MP.

Are Mega Millions sales really that bad now?
WOW! You guys really get into the statistics! I don't know how to do all that. I just buy a ticket every now and then. And I only buy ONE. I do invest in the megaplyer or power up. I don't care how much it is because I know any win would be awesome :) If the jackpot is so high that it's all the talk on the news and at work and etc., then I make sure I don't miss buying at least one ticket. I'd rather not win if it's so high unless I have the option to remain anonymous. That's not an opti

For Fun- You purchase a PB ticket, but end up losing it, so you purchase another...
If you lose a ticket, it is not considered abandoned property legally. It is still your ticket. So I would have some problem with allowing someone to lie (in your scenario) and claim they bought it. As others mentioned, there are cameras, etc. so I think your ownership could be established without any long drawn out litigation. Remember the lottery officials are the initial decision makers here. Once they determined your ownership, of course the other guy could file a suit but a half way decent

How to win the lottery (happily)
There are several flaws with this study though i was excited at first to read it it. The biggest being that its ultimate solution is to remain anonymous. Well, for 45 out of the 50 States that's an impossibility. Secondly, our jackpots here in the States get crazy big most times (which we love) so before there is even a winner, EVERYONE wants to know who will win. So between the national/regional/local media, social networks, public records, investigative journalists, etc. It is very difficul

Maryland Mega Millions jackpot winner claims prize
Congrats to the anonymous winner. To mikeintexas: I understand the arguments for public disclosure; if the information is made public, then there's no doubt that the prize WAS awarded. The states that allow winners to remain anonymous don't seem to be having any problems with doubt that the prize was awarded.

How can I remain anonymous
Ask your TX Lottery public records or legal department contact, or ask Kelly Cripe: Under Texas law, a lottery winner cannot remain anonymous, but the winner doesn't have to be an individual. It can be a trust, Texas Lottery Commission spokeswoman Kelly Cripe said. http://www.chron.com/news/houston-texas/article/Trust-keeps-24-million-jackpot-winner-anonymous-3848371.php

Pa. lawmaker wants to give lottery winners right to remain anonymous
Check again, link I posted previously: http://www.chron.com/news/houston-texas/article/Trust-keeps-24-million-jackpot-winner-anonymous-3848371.php Texas by law does not allow winners to be anonymous, but a winner doesn't have to be a person.
