Take5 NY
The Grapevine has it that the next issue of Lotto Stats is going to have an article that will attempt to explain why we've seen so many duplicate combo's of Take5 winning numbers drawn not only in New York, but in eight other states with 5/39 games too. G5

New CT lottery chief draws flak over his response to auditors' report on Jan. 1 drawing disaster
this new article came up on my birthday so i missed it. they all still don't say much about how they made a miserable start to the new year by omitting the last batch of tickets to their trusting customers who thought they had a real chance of making a brighter future for themselves but instead got double ran over by a snow job. yeah we are still around and will NEVER forget!!

South Carolina's billion dollar mega millions ticket
You are misunderstanding the nuance of the article as to why is this even an issue? It means why don't all states have an anonymous option with all the privacy concerns. The fact is they do not have this uniform option. So winners are news.

Massachusetts has a new rule to stop repeat winners — but so far, they keep winning
The Jaafar's are on to something. No one should win that much. Might be an inside job are they figured out a way to game the system. The article doesn't mention if it was Scratchers or Lotto tickets or a combination of both. States normally list the amount of winners left in a particular game. Maybe they just check what winners are left in a particular game and buy in bulk.

If a dual (UK/USA) citizen wins the Euro Jackpot?
I said having dual citizenship is irrelevant because the only citizenship relevant to the IRS on foreign lottery jackpots is a U.S. citizenship. Every time I read an article about frequent winners I wonder why it's so difficult for those people to understand they are buying tickets from winners that want to avoid IRS problems. Can't they see almost all of those prizes are under $100,000?

Trusts and Tax - losing the anonymous benefit?
Like the trust name in the above article, BWE (Best Week Ever), but I think we can come up with an even better trust name. Thoughts?

$548 MILLION: Mega jackpot to spark ticket-buying frenzy
Interesting article. You have to pay extra bucks in lawyer/acct/manager fees plus forgo any tax deductions. IOW, you have to be filthy rich. The person they profiled is a muti billionaire. He says it's so people dont come out of the woodwork begging and so he doesnt get harassed for making the donations he wants to make. Is it worth it? I think so -- if you got the bucks.
