Proposal to ban welfare recipients from playing lottery
Whats sad about the story is that it can't stop these people from playing obviously, but it can stop them from collecting any winnings over $600. At christmas time many families put scratch tickets and powerball drawings in family members stockings and what not. Now if some poor sap actually hits one of these things but is on assistance, they themselves won't be able to cash it in for themselves. If they get away with this, they will go after all the people over the age of 65 on social security

Millions in lottery winnings go unclaimed each year
If the store had a court order, the Store would have had no choice, but to turn over the security tape, unless it has a ton of money that it can expect to loose and hired Lawyers to have fought the CA Courts and their weapons loaded sheriffs or Marshalls.
Besides, the store may be under a contract to turn over the tape as part of the lottery security arrangements it had with the CA lottery.
I suspect that both the Store and the Lottery were all in compliance with the

Retirement
At a low to moderate income level, those last 2 years will only add one or two hundred dollars per month or so to your social security retirement. Which is a lot of money if you haven't won the lottery. But if I have 10 mil in the bank, I'd rather have that extra 2 years to have fun rather than the extra $100 a month, so I'd quit.

P3 Hots for selected states
After the Columbine shooting, our schools should have the best security of all the places in the US.If it takes guards, guards in towers to keep these kids safe, well I'm all for it...Come up with a gun or try to break in, BLOW HIS @$$ AWAY.. This is the worst thing I've ever heard of, 5 yr olds....I'm sitting here now listening to kids talk about what happen yesterday, I'm at a loss for words on this..This should have never happen..Can't even imagine what the families are going through..You are

Is LotteryPost the equivalent of FACEBOOK. Bunch of dreamers, bragging and Fictional Tales
I do too...Don't have a Facebook page...won't ever have a Facebook page....All I hear is how people get fired from what they wrote on Facebook or pictures they put on Facebook...Then there is the security setting problems they have....I don't know about you all it just sounds like you're asking for trouble if you're on facebook...I don't want to do anything in my personal life that my BOSS can just log on to a website and see as well...

Mechanic and his wife are Missouri winners of $588M Powerball jackpot
Hey it's better safe than sorry! I would wait until I got all my chips in a row before I would do anything about claiming the money, that's just my opinion. There are crazy people out there, that would do anything to get their hands on large amount of money. 136 million is alot of money, why spend most of it on body guards and security. What would you do?

Yeah, that's a way to live. Constant security and body guards. Sounds great. All of that could've been avoided had they waited and claimed it anonymously. Again, I feel sorry for them. Celebrities have to be in the public eye. Lottery winners can avoid it by keeping their mouths shut.

I don't think they're too worried or paranoid about that. With the loot that they now have they will be able to hire security 24/7 without thinking twice about the cost -- they have the money they can afford it.
Celebrities are in the spotlight much more than lottery winners and most of them are left alone and the ones who aren't beef up security... Never heard of any celebrities go into hiding and falling off the face off the earth because they got a few barks from the public. lol

Big lottery winners offer advice, cautionary tales as $500M Powerball drawing approaches
There's a lot of paperwork and red tape for that that can he traced very easily. It would he smarter just to get a ccw permit take classes for it. Or better yet, be anaonamous if possible. It is better than a whole security company and a lot cheaper.
