I am in Orlando too and I totally agree with you about the duds. It's ridiculous no matter which game you play either. I've been sticking mostly to Publix either via machine or the counter and when I do when it's either ticket face value or $5 or $10 more than ticket face. I've had this happen before too, Skeptic. My guess is someone who works there likes certain ticket numbers, and removed/bought(hopefully paid for) those tickets before placing them in the machine. For starters there are 119,877,472 possible outcomes in a 6/69 lotto game. You get the number of permutations by factoring 69 six times (86,311,779,840) and then divide that by factoring 6 (720). if I pick 1 2 3 4 5 6 and the machine draws 2 4 1 5 6 3 that means it is a winning ticket. Lotto numbers are combinations and the numbers are always shown on a ticket as in a low to high order so regardless of which number was drawn first, second, etc.

I based my opinions on the fact that a few states are using computerized system to draw out the winning numbers after all the tickets are counted. the way that the tickets are counted is based on the sale of numbers that's done when the ticket slips goes through the lotto machine at the local shops. @ Kfla - The 250k range is possible on 2MJ.
