Tennessee Lottery players unanimous in their discontent with drawings
Reder Views: Do you have faith in the Tennessee Lottery?
Managers of the Tennessee Lottery must think those playing the lottery are either awfully naive or just plain dumb. Why? It appears to me that winners of future lotteries will no longer be just because of honest luck.
Changing the method from purely chance - that is, from air- blown pingpong balls rolling down chutes (unless they already have been cheating by adding weights to some pingpong balls) to a programmed computer approach

Anyone watch E! True Hollywood Story: Curse of the Lottery show?
Wow, you either have an oppositional personality, or you just cannot grasp what I have been trying to say so you are picking apart different parts of my post.
That is the same as saying a hungry man would buy food, an alcoholic would buy booze, or a woman would go shopping. It might be safe to say that no two people would spend exactly the same.
OK What are you talking about and why make this point, just for the sake of writing something? Yes no two people would spend the money the same,

Video gambling a cash cow even for smaller states
Surveying West Virginia's rural neighborhoods, where most people lack broadband access to the Internet, you would never guess the state is a lottery cash cow.
That is until you drove by the racetracks that dot major population centers.
There you would see crowds of people shoving streams of dollars into buzzing and blinking video lottery terminals the reason this small state, with one of the country's lowest per-capita incomes is home to one of the most lucrative lotteries in the natio

Probability of a MegaMillions rollover.
The MegaMillions jackpot has rolled. The cash value is now $19.8M whereas the advertised annuity value is reported at $34M.
Fourth round drawings in MM sell on average $16.9M in tickets. If this is how many sell at this time, then the randomized probability distribution for numbers of winners will be as follows:
090.82%
18.74%
20.42%
30.01%
The modelling function calculates jackpots based on sales using the model formula S = C exp(a *N), where S is sales,

Texas Lottery audits find more problems
Prize estimates were inflated at least 3 times after scandal
Months after Texas Lottery officials were chastised for inflating Texas Lotto jackpot estimates in a scandal that cost the executive director his job, the agency did it again at least three more times, according to one of two highly critical state auditor reports on the lottery released Tuesday.
Auditors found a significant number of instances in which agency management did not comply with policies and procedures to review or ap

Probability of a Rollover in Powerball.
Powerball has rolled. The cash jackpot is $16.8M. The annuity jackpot is $37M.
Since the matrix change, 4th draws in a series have sold 14.3M tickets on average. If this is how many tickets are sold, the probability of various numbers of winners is as follows:
090.68%
18.87%
20.43%
30.01%
The mixed linear/exponential model (switch to exponential at draw 13) is already relatively close at predicting the cash values - the cash values being what it is designed to predict.

Probability of a Rollover in Powerball.
The powerball jackpot has been won. The average sales for 1st draw jackpots is 14.5M. If this is the number of tickets that are sold, the probability for various numbers of winners occurring will be:
090.55%
18.99%
20.45%
30.01%
I have developed a model that is linear through the first 12 drawings, and becomes exponential at the 13th. This model seems to fit the average sales data very well, when one graphs actual sales vs. model sales. It will be inaccurate where m

Kansas Lottery adds 'Hot Lotto' game
Mini Powerball is coming to Kansas.
Sales for the multi-state Hot Lotto numbers game began Sunday for Wednesday's first biweekly drawing that will include the Sunflower State.
Like Powerball, winning Hot Lotto numbers are selected and announced every Wednesday and Saturday.
Hot Lotto jackpots are smaller than those offered by Powerball, but players have better odds of winning. The odds are 1 in 16 of getting any winning Hot Lotto ticket for prizes that range from $2 to the minimum $
