group buying
I would avoid any site that offers to buy tickets as a package for a group, or that offers any type of sharing or pooling. If the site offers it anywhere, avoid the site. Rule of thumb.
Why?
First of all, even though they make it appear that you're getting TICKETS FOR $1! , you are not. You're getting a tiny slice of a share, and the true cost (and hence your actual share) is hidden from you in most cases.
However the worst reason for using one of those sites is that it is illegal for

The Dependable Lottery System
Since I started this thread; it is only fair that I share some of the statistics I have developed to get to this dependable system. I use the Virginia Win For Life Game. The Facts for the Win for Life Game are these: The Lottery will draw six (6) numbers from a pool of forty-two (42) and one (1) Free Ball from the remaining thirty-six (36) numbers for a total of seven (7) numbers. Win For Life is a multi-state lottery game. States whose lotteries sell Win For Life are Virginia, Georgia and Kentu

Smart Luck
OK smart luckers, I have a question about skips due. When a number appears as more than one skip, which skip do I count it as?
Just as an example, let's say I am preparing for the March 5 drawing. I've decided that skips of 03 are overdue, and because there were several 00's, I am going to eliminate skips of 00 from my pool.
These are the last 3 draws:
Mar 1: 05-11-12-18-28 00-01-06-09-09
Mar 2: 03-04-23-24-31 06-02-07-09-15
Mar 3: 01-03-07-25-31 04-00-04-13-00
Mar 4: 01-03-18

The Pot Of Gold Club
The other day I received a letter in the mail for The Pot Of Gold Club.
Basically it's a couple trying to form a pool of 500 people from any states to play PB or MM or both.
They say they will only play when the jackpot is over $100 million and they're really hoping to hit 5 + 0 and split it.
I see a couple of flaws here and think they really didn't consider a few things, like who is going to pay the tax.
Part of their pitch is that they are not selling tickets, they are selling memb

What's with NY Sweet Million??
How did you guys do last night? I won $6.00, but I spent $10, so I didn't really win anything. I tried a new strategy, I took my best shot at picking 4 lines, and got a QP for the 5th line, thinking my picks might affect the computer QP, by mixing some of my numbers with some I didn't play and come up with a winner. I took the filled out card to one store and got my $5.00 ticket, then I went to Shop-Rite and used the same card so I would get a different QP on the last line in a different store,

What's with NY Sweet Million??
BTW Jacal,
I'm sure my relatives (and friends) all think I'm nuts for playing the lottery regularly, and I'm OK with that. On the former NY State Lottery website, there was a section called Recent Winners . Did you ever look at the pictures of people that appeared there? Did you notice that they were/are everyday, average, typical, normal folks just like you??? Yes, they were very lucky, but they are just like you and me. There are millions of everyday people that play the lottery all over th

Disputed $50M lottery jackpot partially paid out
I am going to first make a contract and make sure that it is legal for me to add a clause that says in the case of a dispute, the director (me), can determine if somebody is entitled to anything.
I'll save you some trouble. No.
It's not quite that black and white, but that's the assumption you should be working with. One thing I can promise is that a contract doesn't apply to somebody who didn't sign it, so if somebody outside of the group claims they're entitled to a share you need some

How many different stores do you buy Scratch tickets from?
Oh, I see, that is a much bigger prize for the 50k/per year. I am having trouble staying focused. Too many tickets. I do like the Lucky for Life ticket, I've only played a couple times but I like the big yellow ticket, scratches real easy. I've just been trying to get into a strategy and saw 1 in 3mil and said forget that, let me try for the 1 in 546,000 for the Million on BDB
But I like your strategy, look at history, timelines, Wins are spread out. Some tickets are due to hit, Makes Sense.

$330 MILLION: Mega Millions lottery jackpot nears record high
the current state lottery's are swimming in money like scrooge mcduck!
but their 2 main holdouts, who are stubborn not to join mega millions
they are the Louisiana lottery and Florida lottery , they both have powerball, but don't have the brains to join MM ,
their ceo's are arrogant and should be fired for costing their state lotto's money, when jackpots get high, this is when states make out like bandits in a bank
mega millions just like powerball, just under 50% of the money g

Statistics around the balance of even/odd and small/big numbers
As everyone has stated, you have 20 odd and 19 even. The odd has a slight advantage in this case. The confusion is the numbers.
Any NUMBER have equal chance since there is only one of each in the pool. However....THROW THE BALLS AWAY!
Instead let's use 20 Black Beans, those we'll call odd. And 19 White Beans, which we call even.
That changes our perception a little, eh?
We have a 20 in 39 chance of drawing a Black Bean (odd) on the first draw. Let's say we do.
We now have an e
