Breaking Las Vegas: Could it happen to the lotto..
Sorry about the long post above - just couldn't figure out any other way to say it.
Anyway, now I want to comment on the subject of cracking the lottery. How can something that is supposed to be random be cracked? I would think all the stories we read in the news forum that show winners who haven't a clue (most of them chose quick picks anyway) clearly demonstrate that the majority of winners aren't mathematicians. Some of them probably can't count to 10 if you put mittens on their hand

Do you think they would make a new lottery movie...
Or they can make a movie about a small kid (or an adult) that is so dangerous that he can't only win the lottery but he can crack anything with an RnG on it..LIke a smart genius that has studied mathematics or has spent time trying to figuring out the seeds of many RnG's thus been able to win the lottery (computerized drawings) and anything like banks security systems that use alarms based on a RnG, (like decriptions) Pentagon alarms, CIA, FBI, etc...A guy like this would be more dangerous than

[C++ Code]A Quick Pick generator for PowerBall and Mega Miilions
Nice programs. I write C# which is similar. My program runs in Windows. One part of the program has an RNG option mainly to use for computerized drawings if/when I play those. Question: Does the RNG generator make sure that a number is not put twice (other than Bonus Ball)? I don't recommend using a list 1.4gb in size, that eats so much disk space! A twist on the marking off of used numbers: use your favorite RNG method and pick 5 numbers and a BB, then flag off the 5 numbers (and a separate BB

How Western Canada does thier Pick 3 draw
What was your point in asking?
Were you trying to show that computerized drawings are really a good thing?
Were you trying to see what the bad points are?
What is YOUR opinion?

Ball-Drawn Raffles
Many of us on this forum are strictly opposed to computerized drawings. The new lottery raffle games are being computer selected. This makes me wonder: Should these raffles be drawn with balls instead of computer selected? A possible way to do it (using Pennsylvania as an example):
PA's first raffle sold 500,000 tickets (since increased to 625,000, but bear with me). The tickets were numbered from 00000001 (1) to 00500000 (500,000). To run this as a ball drawn lottery, instead of ticket 500,0

Which game is better to play?
I've been looking at the pay out structures and general rules, and I'm trying to figure out which game is the better one. For the purposes of this poll, please disregard Delaware using computerized drawings.
PA Cash 5 ($1/ticket) has 39 numbers and prizes start at matching 2/5 for a $1 prize. DE Multi-Win Lotto ($2/ticket) has 35 numbers and is a multi-line lottery game with prizes starting at 3/6 on one line, 6/18 on all 3 lines, or 0/18, starting at $2 prizes (no prizes from 1/18 thru 5/18)

New game in SC this autumn
The only thing negative about HL is that it's computerized (actually, it uses radioactive material-I don't see how that can be manipulated.) I realize that some people are as against computerized drawings as I am against annuity-only games.
HL, computerized or not, is a much better game than GA-KY-VA Lose for Life. South Carolina was interested in Lotto South-LS would still be here, as at least a four-state game, if SC had joined.
If NC and SC were to join HL, they would do so, separately.

US House votes to kill Internet gambling
Ok, so we can go to the casinos and spend what we want, the race tracks and blah, blah, and we can shop on-line with what-ever transfer of funds we choose, but..............oh, no, on-line gambling...what a damper...i agree with Todd!
we don't know what they're going to do, nor how fast can they actually do it! but as being in this lottery community, what can we do? i have voted against computerized drawings, most of us probably have, but what can we do?
get it while we can i know, but

Just for fun.....
Considering lowered cash options, computerized drawings, and a few other things, let's do some goof tabloid type headlines for some future lotteries, maybe something like:
Indiana man hits Powerball, takes annuity not cash option, he owes them $650,000 a year!
Mega Millions matrix goes to 200 pick 5 and 200 Mega Number- someone hits on a QP, investigation to follow. Lottery official heard to say, No one can ever hit this on recorded memo.
