Very interesting thread you have here and I certainly agree with so much of what you discuss but, it kinda seems to be over simplified when it comes to the wagering costs versus the ROI's you mention. True event. Traveling home from work each day I pass a myriad of trees each time I noticed what appeared to be birds caught in white angel hair. Finally today I pulled over to get a better look. Sure enough...two of the hawk birds were dead and mummified by this angel hair. I was fascinated as they were still clutched to the tree branch and this netting was holding them in place. It's cold where I reside so not sure if that played a part in them remaining so stiff.

Right on. Each drawing is an individual event. The balls have no memory. But many people develop systems that include the manipulating of numbers with regards to different methods of addition, subtraction, multiplication, division mirrors and other crazy ideas ad nauseum. You can have fun with these systems or your own and you will win once in awhile but in the end financially they are all losers. Perhaps the answer lies in a lack of movement. A very astute observation AB. Friday when the jackpot was $340 million, about 27.5 million tickets were sold. Divide the number of tickets sold by the number of possible outcomes and you'll see that there was less than a 10% chance of somebody having a jackpot winning ticket. Might be more tickets sold for the 7/17 drawing but there still will be an 85% the jackpot won't be won. Would plan an outdoor event like a picnic or a wedding with an 85% chance of rain?
