10,000 scratch tickets flawed?
I live in MA and find $10 scratch tickets appalling, losing $10 at once is too much for my tastes. But now I'll be looking carefully at the ones I find in the trash and having the bar codes of any unreadable tickets scanned...Any large, unclaimed prizes in this game should be seen as evidence of lottery fraud. It means that returned books of tickets with big prizes were not reprinted and put back into circulation. All losers should get refunds because they did not have a fair chance at all majo

Collecting
Just daydreamimg, and wondering how one could keep his or her name out of the press and off tv/radio when winning the big one.I've read some of the elaborate methods (legal...we're talking about avoiding the press, not the Feds) to keep things QUIET. It seems, at some point you would have to hand over authority over all your money (even if for the shortest time) to someone else or more than one other person. I don't about that, even to the most trusted legal advisor. What about changing your name

Taxes on gambling winnings
According to IRS Pub 17, chap 13, sub-heading Gambling Winnings you must include gambling winnings on line 21 of Form 1040. That's all winnings. There is no $599 tax free limit. Lottery winnings under $600 doesn't require withholding taxes. But you still include it on line 21 as income. I called the IRS to confirm this. I know if you don't declare it they probably won't catch you. But call it what it is. It's not $599 tax-free, it's $599 tax fraud.

Win money!!
Hey there Vison-D you didn't notice! Notice what you ask? I also went into the site,(just to see) clicked on Virginia and up poped a winning ticket. Fantastic, but isn't there a law against fraud? Check the printing out, the ticket is real even with the normal blurred computer print but when you get to the date number it's crystal clear, wrong, dah, I just got off the boat. Plus the check is dated April 15,2003. Can someone tell me what I'm missing????????? I'd sure like to know after seei

LOTTERY GAMES ONLINE LEGAL OR ILLEGAL
This is the TopDawg from the last frontier--Alaska. Having written the GLC they responded of course disclaiming any affiliation with playbiggame.com. They also indicated that purchasing tickets online or mailing tickets via USPS is illegal. How does any online agent get around this. We do not have any type of a lottery game here in Ak, however, I would like to play, specifically THE BIG GAME. What I am afraid of is revealing credit card info to fraud. Anyone out there who cares to lend some educ

BEWARE OF LUCKY HORSE
I agree -- on the Internet it's buyer beware . But at the same time, there has been lots of talk of some authorities investigating this that. What authority? The IRS? The IRS would investigate a matter with tax fraud, but I don't think they'd be involved in a copyright violation. If this Luckyhorse did violate a copyright law, he would most likely get a cease and desist from the copyright holder. On the issue of personal information, I would be cautious revealing my personal information to A

Great article about 1980 Pennsylvania rigging
Thanks, billyloco. I found it pretty fascinating myself. It's sad when something like that happens because a lot of people are fairly suspicious about lottery handlers. Unfortunately, I don't think the state lotteries do a terrific job of making people feel at ease. Even though the drawings occur live on TV, the state lotteries don't go out of their way to share a lot of the behind the scenes stuff, such as how they protect against fraud. That's why I liked the article -- it really spells out how

CT Lottery chief questioned by lawmakers over mishaps, computerized drawings
By Jon Lender
State lawmakers grilled Connecticut Lottery Corp. officials Thursday at a legislative hearing about long-running controversies including their alleged retaliation against former lottery security chief Alfred W. DuPuis, who says he was the victim of a vendetta for raising questions in 2015 about the fraud-plagued 5 Card Cash game, and their alleged lack of cooperation with the state Department of Consumer Protection that regulates them.
On top of that, Rep. Joe Verrengia, D-We
