NJ bill aims to protect lottery winners' identity
What Happens in the UK! One of the most important decisions for new winners to make is whether to opt to go public or remain anonymous. If a winner decides to talk publicly about their win, the UK Lottery will organise a press conference and handle all media interest on their behalf, removing the anxiety that can accompany talking about a big win. If they have requested to remain anonymous, the UK Lottery takes its obligations and duty of care to protect winners privacy very seriously. Unl

What if you won big and you live in a state that doesn't allow anonymity?
The only thing left is to move to a state where they can stay anonymous. Might be there a while before you win though...just there long enough to see someone from the state you moved from (the one that did not allow anonymous claims) to win the big jackpot lol

Six $1M Powerball tickets claimed by one Arizona winner
hmm... didnt realize AZ allow anonymous collections. 6 tickets... 2$ per ticket = 12$... if they had purchased 4 tickets w/ PP it still would have cost 12$ but they would have had 8M$ instead of 6M$. I get the 'why anonymous' but some more details would have been nice... like why they went 3X to the lottery hqtrs to collect instead of doing it all at once... that is kinda odd. There are alot of little 'facts' and details that could be released without putting the winners face on the win..

48 Philly transit workers win $172M Powerball jackpot
Congratulations to them! This does point out one thing: there needs to be universal winner disclosure publicity levels. Why should winners in, for example, Deleware, be allowed to remain annonymous when those in other states are forced to reveal their name city they live in? If the powerball megamillions are multi-state, then there should be one winner disclosure level on all states involved in the lotteries... Regarding being anonymous but for now I'll purchase my tickets in another sta

Kansas Mega Millions winner claims jackpot anonymously
True, though it's hard to imagine why the winner would agree to a press conference. Most MD winners do chose to remain anonymous. Shame on me, but I am looking forward to the follow-up where Wilson explains what happened to her winning ticket. EDIT: The MD winner actually is staying anonymous, but the MD lottery will be sharing the person's storyline, whatever that means. Okay, enough with the google searching. I won't find out anything until tomorrow haha.

Kansas Mega Millions winner claims jackpot anonymously
real suprising that susie a certified financial planner is encouraging people to sign on with her (or another financial planner) if they win. as far as kansas winners in the past remaining anonymous. i'm sure they were much smaller jackpot winners than this alleged winner. most of you won't even play unless it's 100 million or more (talk about greed). which suprises me more that you don't want to know who won. you seem to want to protect the winner (from nothing) rather than actually verify that

Kansas Mega Millions winner claims jackpot anonymously
This is the way ALL Lotteries should be, Anonymous period....!!! To many folks have to deal with other things involving winning the lottery when they have to disclose who they are. Everyone should sign a petition to have the their States have these people remain anonymous...!

does anyone know who signs the back of a winning ticket if claimed by a trust?
I am trying to figure out who signs the back of the lottery ticket if you win a jackpot and wish to remain anonymous by claiming the winnings through a blind trust. Does the attorney sign? The Trustees? or the person that bought the ticket? I see everywhere that you should sign your ticket right away to claim ownership, but does this comprimise your ability to be anonymous? I would think so....anyone know??? Thanks,

Representative of Hot Lotto winner named in lawsuit
I'm a new poster here so please treat me with kid gloves at first. With that said...being anonymous is fine if one doesn't care to field the typical questions from a reporter, How does it feel to be a winner? , what are your plans? (and my favorite) will the win affect your life? . States do allow winners to beg off the publicity and pictures, Arizona being one of them. However, there is a Public Records law that would reveal the winners name. The general public won't know that you're the win

Iowa Lottery security chief bent on determining identity of jackpot winner
ok so i think i see the difference with our anonymous ,and usa's. here the person is known to the state as the winner, but identity remains anonymous to the public. seems even the lotto officials are left in the dark in usa's version. but wait not all lotto is gov ran any more is is it? its private companies. why should there be laws making oyu reveal idientity to a private corp? sure the statew needs to know, they need to know when u sell a peice of gold worth more than $500, but private
