will they be bumping up lottery from extra sales ?
Every state that is involved in the mega millions is claiming above forcasted sales for the entire last year and this year so far yet the lottery jackpots rarely seem to get boosted due to extra sales... Just curios if jackpots have been increasing faster or slower than before ohio and the other states had join mega millions. anyone have any ideas?

I think some of the negative posts probably have to do with the fact that the people at Big Game Mega Millions promissed higher growing jackpots, and jackpots up to $500 Million before they ever got that high. Now that we have the first real big jackpot, we're seeing that it's not growing much faster than it was under Big Game. I think people feel let down by that. Especially since they almost doubled the odds.

The players Ohio was trying to attract were the ones that headed out of state when the Biggame and Powerball had jackpots of 60M or more. Until MegaMillions have that size jackpot, the 649plus game is going to continue to do sell. I'm sure the MM game is going to have some big jackpots, but when MM's jackpot is 11M with odds of 1:175M and the 649+'s jackpot is 13M with odds of 1:14M, which one are you going to play? Even the cash-value looks better.RJOh

I play Buckeye5 when the other jackpots are low, but matching 4 or 5 numbers is harder than during the same thing in SuperLotoPlus, but they pay more. With those kinds of odds you probably would have to invest as you do for the larger jackpots. When I play I usually play 8 sets of numbers. I almost always get a $1 win, occasionally I get a three and it been over a year since I match 4. Good luck to you.RJOh

Actually having two games and letting the players pick may be worse right now. As happens so often, I think this is another case of players somehow failing to understand that the point of a lottery is to raise revenue for the entity that runs the lottery.
