Interesting comment re: Quick Picks
BobP Nonsense by Catlin. None of the Quick Picks make any attempt to checkwhat was previously issued before generating your tickets. ... A little background info on Catlin, from the back cover of the book: Don Catlin, professor emeritus at the University of Massachusetts, knows his way around the numbers. He has worked for the government designing submarine guidance systems, he's been a consultant to the casino industry concerning game design and results, and he's a regular colunmnis

GTECH takes half ownership of Chinese lottery firm
Providence, R.I.-based lottery technology company GTECH Global Services Corp., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Italy's Lottomatica S.p.A., has spent $20 million to acquire 50 percent of Tabcorp International Hong Kong Ltd. (TIHK), a Chinese lottery provider. That 50-percent portion of Tabcorp is being spun into a separate entity and renamed CLS-GTECH Co. Ltd. The new entity is being formed to expand a nationwide KENO system for lotteries throughout China, according to company officials. Tab

Off the wall strategies or just wasting time?
Yep, you gotta have the right numbers, but they are worthless if they aren't played. I think this discussion is about QPicques and Scratchies. I don't think it matters where you play, as long as you play. I sometimes EXCLUDE certain locations to play at because of any of the following reasons: 1. Bad karma for eg. snarly, jerky, or rude employees or players frequenting the location, making my playing experience uncomfortable. 2. Improperly maintained or unreliable termi

tennessee lottery has COMPLETELY destroyed its credibility
I don't care for RNG's myself, but I find it funny how some of you guys like to take a mistake and break it down into as many different mistakes because apparently the more things you can list the worse they are. Also, I wouldn't say the RNG was snuck in because on the FAQ page of the TN lottery website it states: I would like details about how your drawings are conducted. On July 28, 2007, the Tennessee Lottery began holding its drawings using the latest in automated technology, jo

Lottery 'glitch' leaves players suspicious
from the article: The glitch might not have happened at all if the lottery had bought the software to pick the random numbers from a different vendor. A Rhode Island firm, Szrek2Solutions, proposed a system costing more than $100,000 less than the one offered by Smartplay. _______________________________________ I corresponded with Irena Szrek and her husband in 2003, when LosingJeff and I were investigating the Hoosier Lottery's fraudulent operation. The RNG's manufactured b

Tenn. Lottery CEO breaks silence on drawing errors
I think someone is feeling the heat. And rigthfully so. I think if she has any regret it isn't because she made the decision to switch to an RNG and that decision costs the players a lot of money. But rather it is because after all her talk about security and integrity the system was indeed not secure and the process was totally lacking in integrity. It is obvious to me that Ms Hargrove couldn't care less about the players and that she has no intention of switching back to ball drawing

POLL 2 of 3: Switching to computerized drawings
I did answer LESS in the poll. My comments were not meant to criticize the pollster. Having already been through this in my home state (they didn't tell us about the switch until after the fact), I was compelled to point out that spending NO money on the games makes a stronger statement, and is much more effective, than spending less. The lotteries will never hear us if we keep handing them our money. Even if we spend less, we're still playing, and we're still buying tickets, so the

TENNESSEE LOTTERY-e mail response to computerized drawings
We appreciate your comments but the decision has been made to go to an exciting way to hold our drawings using the latest in automated technology, joining numerous lotteries throughout the world that use similar computerization. Cash 3, Cash 4, Lotto 5 and Hot Trax drawings will be conducted at the Tennessee Lottery's headquarters in Nashville using one of two automated drawing machines. These are stand-alone computers that operate as random number generators. A random number generator consis

If I reduce the MM or PB number pool by half and play 3o2e/3e2o...(?)
As far as the lottery not telling us about some odds that they don't define, are you suggesting that only mathematicians who work for the the lotteries knows about this and no other mathematicians have ever figured it out, or are you suggesting that there's some vast conspiracy among all mathematicians to never tell the rest of us that numbers (and balls, dice, cards, coins etc) have memories of previous results and the power to decide whether or not they'll come up again? No, you are misin
