Your point of view... Fate or stacking your chances?
I typically only buy one, but on occasion, if I have already bought my ticket for the upcoming drawings and I am at the grocery store and get a few dollars change back, I will stop by the little machine and get a another ticket or two. Lately with both that MM, PB, and Oregons Megabucks jackpots all being so high, I've had 3 tickets or so for the last few drawings for each that I got on separate trips to the store.
Sometimes I feel optimistic enough that one ticket is all you need if its your

Unclaimed Jackpot Prizes
You have 3 possibilities of what happened and 2 are very shady:
The ticket was thrown away. The lottery closed the game because they are allowed if all tickets have been sent out. The lotteries are using shady practices and in this case see below:
This is something that the lotteries should be sued upon, because it's a loophole that can allow a lottery to legally destroy jackpot tickets. This is something I had to do a lot of research to figure out how exactly all the top prizes wer

Should Camelot Pay These "Jackpot Winners"?
This! Apps, by and large, are garbage. And it's not just recreational sites with faulty apps, many banks and credit card apps are glitchy too. A common issue is lack of detail / delayed updating. Also, version and hardware differences which can cause apps to act wonky. I use a well known, large on-line bank, and their website updates account balances nearly immediately while their app often doesn't.
As for the couple, they'll likely come up empty. What works against their argument is the lack

Suspended CT lottery game had too many winners
The Connecticut Lottery and state Department of Consumer Protection shut down the 5 Card Cash game after noticing there were more winners than the game's parameters should have allowed, and determining that some lottery agents were manipulating machines to print more winning tickets and fewer losers.
The investigation is ongoing, Consumer Protection Commissioner Jonathan Harris said Friday afternoon, but lottery retailers found to have cheated could face criminal charges.

Australian woman's winnings stolen after she posts selfie with winning ticket
Includes audio report
By Todd Northrop
A Perth, Australia, woman who won $825 on the Melbourne Cup horse race was shocked to find someone else claimed her winnings before she could, using details from her celebratory Facebook selfie.
Chantelle told radio station Triple M she was thrilled to have won hundreds after picking 101-to-1 shot Cup winner Prince of Penzance.
She posted a selfie of herself posing with the winning ticket to celebrate. When we found out we naturally took a b

Idaho Raffle Adds Instant Win Component
Definitely way too easy to game, especially for retailers. A better way would be selecting a random ticket out of every 25,000 sold. Very easy to program, and difficult to abuse. As it stands now, a retailer can wait for low as 24,950 (or multiple of) and then hit the machine hard and buy 50 tickets and double their money, plus have 50 raffle chances too. In reality, most retailers seeking to abuse this would likely buy a few tickets or less, and yet still have a decent chance of getting the $10

Another Lottery Adventure.
I am curious to see if your lottery adventure is as curious as mine. Has this ever happened to you?
An adventure in Lotto Land.
So today I decided to deviate from normal lottery routine. I decided to take my winning ticket to a new store to determine if they are lucky or have a machine with a lucky lottery algorithm.
It s a liquor store. I do a traversing of the whole store, price some vodka, and exchange formalities with the clerk before I hand my winning ticket over. The ticket i

Multiples of the same number
Does anyone here buy multiples of the same number hoping for a bigger payout?
Here is what I do: I have 3 sets of numbers I play on a regular basis and I put them all on the same ticket. I then run that ticket through the vending machine 10 times. If my any of my numbers hit, I will win $2500 if it is a straight and and $400 if is is boxed. When I do it the straight, it will be a huge win without having to claim the winnings on my taxes.
Now I just need my numbers to hit.

[UPDATE] D.C. woman who tried to redeem faulty ticket admitted to forging second 'winner'
With all the fancy technology these days, one would assume the length setting is automatic. But even if the length setting is correct, the alignment can still be a problem, as the article points out (and have personally observed, though is extremely rare to see at the self-service dispensers I regularly visit)...
However, there's a simple old-school tech solution, which was utilized in PA, and likely other lotteries too, decades ago - a series of black bars pre-printed on the ticket to deline

The PA Lottery Ripped Me Off Again ... Part 2
I just want to add as I am thinking everything over ... as it happened last May and yesterday.
Everything happens so fast when you already have money in the self-serve terminal. If you are playing a card or play slip with numbers already filled out or no numbers filled out, just QPs ... that was what I did in May.
Sometimes I take a play slip and just mark 3, 4, or 5 QPs ... no numbers played at all, just the QP boxes marked. Last May I had a Cash 5 card filled out for four QPs.
