Quick Picks
Switching stores isn't going to change anything. A quick pick is exactly that, a quick pick. If you really really want to increase your odds(by a lot too), learn C++ and make your own software. Visual Basic would be easier to learn, and you can improve your odds with it as well, but if you're looking to improve your odds by millions and millions, then you want code that will execute very fast. Some of my filters require so much speed, I had to convert my program to C++ because my VB program woul

How much have you won playing a jackpot game?
Since these games carry the highest odds I was wondering what is the largest amount of money people have won for a single drawing playing a jackpot game like Mega Millions, Power Ball, or 6 ball Lotto? An was it simply matching most of the numbers to achieve that win or did they use things like power play option, or playing multiple tickets with the same numbers and/or multiple tickets with the same mega or powerball number to increase their win or anyting else not mentioned. Thanks in advance.

Lottery Formulas, Possibilities and Odds
Is there a way to increase the font size so I can read the numbers? I tried IE's View:Text Size:Largest but that didn't change anything.
Thanks!

Probability of a MegaMillions rollover.
We're closing in on $180 milion in sales. I'm going to have to forget probability and just cross my fingers that it rolls. This roll has seen more than a 60% jump in sales over the previous jackpot, and a similar increase for another roll would mean a single winner would also be a matter of luck rather than probability.
FWIW, a similar jump in sales would push the annuity value to about 525 and the cash to about 310.

wheeling
I'm new to the forum and am curious to know if the systems I've read about actually do increase your lottery winnings. I've purchased one book by Gail Howard, but I'm not sure now that it was a good idea. I've seen another book by Iliya Bluskov, a math professor in Canada and it seems like a more intellectual version, and he doesn't seem to have anything to seel other than his book. Using these systems seems like a good idea and it certainly seems like more of a game to see if you can beat the o

Ct. lottery ticket worth $3.5 million expires
It's nice that everyone waits until NOW to investigate. If they had a possible video, you think they'd take a look at it before it was too late. Eh well, hopefully they won't ever find out, because in this situation, what the person doesn't know, won't hurt them. On a side note, I always found it strange that lottery sales would increase at a store that sold a winning ticket. I think I'd be less likely to buy a ticket from such a place banking on the lightning doesn't strike the same place twic

Indiana Lottery sell-off advances in state Senate
I have yet to make up my mind whether state lotteries should be sold, probably because it hasn't happened yet in the US. Connecticut's AFAIK is partly run by the private sector.
Maybe NY should sell its lottery except for its VLTs (Monticello, Yonkers, soon to be Aqueduct, etc). Perhaps there would be an increase in the Blotto payout percentage, and an end to annuity-only scratches.

Lotteries long for 'jackpot fever'
I wouldn't necessarily say that people will win twice as often, because a lot of people would stop as many tickets with a price increase. But there would be more winners overall for sure, especially if they added more prizes.
And there already is a mini-Powerball, it's called Hot Lotto. Not really the kind of odds you're looking for, but it is played exactly the same way as Powerball.

Lotteries long for 'jackpot fever'
There are things a lottery can do to overcome so-called jackpot fatigue , some are pretty, some aren't. The first remedy is simple patience. Unfortunately, most states have seemed to put all their eggs into one basket, that being either PB or MM, so waiting may not be much of an option when most of your ad budget is going to a lost cause . There are lot's of things these games can do to get people back, such as add more prizes, increase lower tier prizes, raise the price and lower the odds (bo

N.C. Lottery chief adding new games to overcome revenue shortfall
This is why you can't believe everything you read.
NC does have the Powerplay multiplier option up to 5. The 10 is suppose to come in the spring for a few weeks. Now let's just hope NC does not try to increase that $2 ticket to a $3 ticket just because it's going to 10. We will have no lottery at all then because people are not going to pay for something extra especially when we have a BAD lottery. Yes, it's bad.
