World's biggest lottery jackpot won by three tickets
Yeah I figure if you're going to blab your win on LP why not go WHOLE HOG and display the proof? The ticket isn't a driver's license so no fear over security issues. Things that make you go hmmm....

$540 MILLION: Mega Millions buying frenzy sparks another jackpot increase
More than I was thinking, but still a bit cheaper than $10M to be on an virtual deserted island that you will still probably need to hire security for, only now a lot more of it.

$540 MILLION: Mega Millions buying frenzy sparks another jackpot increase
$200,000 will cover security 24/7 for about half a year. That is actually cheap. There are some firms that charge $100-$200 per hour.

$540 MILLION: Mega Millions buying frenzy sparks another jackpot increase
A secluded $10M ranch so a person can be isolated is one option. Another is to hire security for $200,000 for a year, while things cool down.

$500 MILLION: Mega Millions sets all-time lottery jackpot record
The curiousity is going to be so great I am afraid the retailer(s) might release the winners photo(s) from the security camera(s) before the winner even has a chance to come forward. They are notified when and that they have sold the winning ticket. Imagine being outed before you are ready holding a $600,000,000.00 ticket.........

Generous former lottery winner says she accidentally gave away second winning ticket
Seems that there is more to this story. ABC news is reporting that the security footage shows her buying numerous lottery tickets and giving them away randomly to customers in the store. California lottery has reviewed the tapes from the store and that appears to be the case. If it shows that she gave away lottery tickets along with the 100.00 bucks then it is a open and shut case and the ticket belongs to the person she gave it to.

Online Illinois lottery tickets net $15K first day
I wouldn't mind giving my information for a US run online lottery. One of the online sites NOT US based asks for picture identification, driver's license, soc security card, Visa card, bank account information. To me it was not worth it giving up that information to someone who is in some place I can't even spell.

Mo. woman describes aftermath of lottery jackpot
This is a topic that I've thought a lot about. I cannot say exactly how I would react to the begging. So many folks are out of work, yet so many also think that you owe them something simply because you won the money, and will be mad because they are jealous. Any services I get from companies, they'll think they should be able to over charge. First, I would fear for my childrens' safety - we would have to move to a gated housing arrangement, and put them in schools that have some special securit

Idaho's biggest lottery winner knew he would win
Brad Duke stands as a good example of what to do right with your jackpot winnings. Although I wonder how much intrusion results from his public appearances. I did notice when he was last on How the Lottery Changed My Life, there is little to no mention of family. My guess is he has his personal security down to a fine art if he is confident enough to be as public as he is.
