How soon till the next $ Billion $ Jackpot?
I was switching between two windows and butchered that while editing to adjust the format. Here's what it should be: $202 million 57.5% $227 million 48.3% $255 million 40.3% $300 million 32.0% $334 million 23.1% $528 million 10.5% $948 million 1.3% The jackpot amounts are the amounts from the last run. The percentages are based on the reported coverage of the possible combinations (based on data from the TX lottery) for the jackpots from the last run. That means these are the probab

More state lotteries adding "win for life" games
What does over 40 have to do with getting money every year for life? NOTHING. These are my favorite games and I don't give a crap if I am over 40 I will take $365,000 a year any day or $273,000 after taxes or whatever is left I don't give a crap. Would be A LOT more than I would have otherwise at any age. Don't like the games don't play them. The odds are WAY better than PB or MM and I have already seen about 6-8 winners or more in 4 states. I matched 3 number so far, and also almost won Lucky F

Are we throwing away our money by trying to beat an RNG?
I have been wondering the same thing. I am beginning to seriously wonder about this rng stuff here in Illinois. They changed over to rng in October and since then no-one has won the Illinois Lotto game. The Lucky Day Lotto before the change would seldom get over $400,000 but is now normally over $400,000. If they are not manipulating the rng, how is it any more random than the ping pong balls? I can see maybe a small difference in the jackpot amounts during the change, but I don'

Lottery veterans question Tennessee family's behavior before claiming Powerball winnings
Tennessee Lottery rules also permit jackpots to be claimed in the name of a trust for more privacy. The Tennessee Lottery doesn't have an information on claiming in the name of a trust. Can the winner of a large Lottery prize remain anonymous? It is the policy of the Tennessee Lottery to treat such information as a public record. The Lottery will therefore disclose the name, home state and home town of winners if a request is received for such information. Tennessee Lotte

Lottery veterans question Tennessee family's behavior before claiming Powerball winnings
lejardin, Thank You. I am also changing my lottery playing. I think that I can wait till the jackpots for Mega Millions and Power Ball reach $150 - $200 million before I play. Most of us here at LP know the odds but when the jackpot breaks records then we all hope that it will be one of our tickets that wins. I am dissolving any agreements, promises, pledges that I made for this past PB run. I start clean for another record breaker. We are here at LP to commiserate with one another a

Lottery veterans question Tennessee family's behavior before claiming Powerball winnings
Im with you Music. I was disappointed I was not one of the winners, am envious and a tad jealous, ok, ok a lot jealous. I was imagining myself having all 6 numbers, now I am imagining what it must be like getting all things lined up to collect. This sounds like I am an idiot but I just feel one of these days, lol. I am sure people I talk to are sick of hearing me, including my LP friends hahahaha. I look at the drawings for the games I play and when I think I made an agreement to a three w

Lottery veterans question Tennessee family's behavior before claiming Powerball winnings
California and Florida winners should learn from mistakes made by Tennessee winners Godspeed, John and Lisa Robinson of Munford, Tenn. The 50-somethings may have been Average Joes a day ago, but not after Friday morning when they revealed themselves on national television as big time winners in this week's record-breaking lottery. The Robinsons' decision to fly to New York City to appear on NBC's Today show several hours before claiming their stake in the Powerball jackpot left some lo

Tennessee couple claims share of $1.6 billion Powerball jackpot
I can't imagine what it must be like, but don't be so hard on them--no sleep, overwhelmed with the attention and the idea that they are super rich, small town folk.... I mean, the jealousy I can feel just from these posts, just imagine what it will be like at work for them. Can't blame them, they just wanted more money but not for their lives to change but, ain't gonna happen. I work at home now out of necessity, but I tried imagining working at my old job (long-term health care) after I h

Anonymity for this huge jackpot. Let's settle this right here and now.
If you live in a state where you can't remain anonymous, can you wear a disguise at press time? I have seen some of the winner's pictures on Powerball and Megamillions website in the winner's stories section where they are holding the presentation check up in front of their face. This is the first jackpot of its size, but with the new odds I bet it wont be the last. With billion dollar jackpots more commonplace, the idea of someone wining this much will fade like it did after someone won t

Lottery Post will host event at 8pm EST By Todd Northrop Lottery players from across the United States and around the world will have the chance Monday evening to ask questions about the Eddie Tipton computerized drawing rigging scandal to Terry Rich, Iowa Lottery CEO, who was instrumental in discovering the crime.
