Raising a staggering €4.5 billion
They floated the idea of a pan-european lottery back in the day, but because the government kept arguing that gambling was to be tightly regulated for player and addiction protection/prevention they would have tanked their own case by signing on to a lottery that has jackpots that have the potential to rise as high as 190m . So 8 years later they started Eurojackpot which only has the potential to reach 90m , because clearly the potential for addiction is much smaller this way As for

Powerball changing in October to generate bigger jackpots
I think they are counting on people forgetting to cash the low value tickets - no big rush. Guess I'm in the minority - I don't see the need in a mega-huge jackpot for one person. I'd be much more likely to play with lots of peeps winning realistic amounts: $100, $500, $1000, $10,000, $20,000, etc. But if that happened, people wouldn't be losing the ticket or forgetting to catch it in. Each of these lower amounts can be important - it depends on your current status.... Buying meat, paying

Winning M/M at 15million
I think there are a couple of reasons. Seems to me that there's not much point in spending the money to buy tickets when the MM jackpot is that low because a lot of state jackpots and scratch offs can be had at that amount but with much greater odds. I don't think that most people would consider a $15 million jackpot chump change (even with a take home value of about a third of that). I think a person should be able to retire on $5M or they need to rethink their spending habits. It's just tha

Illinois lottery winners file class-action lawsuit against state
Ironically, a government partner would be safer than how many lotteries actually implement annuities. Some lotteries, such PA Lottery, treat annuities as a contractual obligation held by various private-sector annuity companies; winnings not directly government backed. To be fair, typical large jackpots, while seemingly relatively huge, are small change for annuity companies, so it's highly unlikely any of them would default so badly they couldn't pay out, but it could happen. A lot can chang

Any update on the Powerball matrix change?
Huge mistake indeed! Sales are already lousy. Making the odds worse will reduce sales even further. Most recent PB jackpot, despite being widely advertised as $100 million, only increased by the minimum 10 million. Wasn't all that long ago when $100 million would generate a decent bump. Not these days. Another motive for changing the matrix is reducing the prize liability for 2nd place. While most players won't notice nor care, many savvy players who also play for 2nd place will. I rarely pla

What will MM look like after PB change?
A friend is goint to be in the states in September/October and can bring me back some advance play. What would you opt for? 28 draws Powerball or 28 draws Megamillions? I was thinking 28 single line draws of MM, since PB is twice as expensive and will have worse odds come October. That got me thinking, how will MM grow once PB has become more unattractive odds wise instead of just being more expensive? Do people care enough to defect to MM as it's cheaper and the odds are (sli

North Carolina: 7/1 - 7/31/2015
Yup, it is a BIG list Ashley and if you wheel them, you will get 343 combos. The intent of this is to find out if the pattern is D-D, N-N or D-N-D. If Alice and the 7-dweebs up there would stop screwing with things, we could actually win a little. This is a PATHETIC payout for a double 00, REALLY Alice? 705 winners won a total of $94,870 Side note: Cash 5 was won tonight, so they will try to to throw the P3 and 4 off even more. I see a payout pattern between the 5 and P3/4 when jackp

Powerball changing in October to generate bigger jackpots
Your reasoning is why they came up with Monopoly Millionaire. To create more million dollar winners. We saw how that worked out. I don't like the changes either, but the fact of the matter is that for MM and PB jackpot fatigue is a huge factor and people actually do play more when the jackpots get huge, which hasn't been happening very much. I play every PB and MM draw. Sure, I would love to hit the jackpot, but I'm also playing for the second prize because they both offer the best shot at

Special Circumstance Anonymity Protection?
First off, without a court order in place, the victim does not get any special priviledges. Anyone can claim they are an abused person to try to get an excemption, but the burden of proof is on that person. two, you need to go to that state's rules. When only about 12 - 30 winners a year for the PB And MM jackpots combined, the chances are so low, wspecialy with the change coming oct 1, thefe really is no need to hash this out. If you win then consult an attorney! This is a legality questi

Looks like that lottery win will never happen
Regardless of the game as a system player there's very little difference in the amount of time spent picking combinations. When the wins are most likely to be the lowest ones, the best option seems to be the games with the higher jackpots and the better overall odds of winning something since I only play a couple of times weekly. MM = 1:14.7 PB = 1:31.8 OCL = 1:53.6 RC5 = 1:8.7
