Meet the man who pays out UK lottery jackpots
Ever wondered how lottery winners are paid their money or who looks after them? The UK National Lottery recently profile one of their Winners Advisers, Andy Carter, to offer lottery players a glimpse of their role.
From the moment they realize they've won to actually getting their prize money, UK lottery winners are looked after every step of the way by their dedicated team of Winners' Advisers. It is their job to support winners through the entire process so they can begin to enjoy their lif

"Winning Tickets Left" Information ...
Anyone know from PA or from other states ... how often is the online information updated about the number of winning tickets remaining on various games.
Being in PA ... I have always wondered if there is an update several times a week, once a week like every Monday or they update when they feel like it or get around to it?
That information may be online at the web site somewhere under Instant Games but I am not seeing it.
Does your state indicate when the latest update was done?
So i

When you purchase your MM/PB tickets are you not...
Raven- l do not have a problem with the idea of being WRONG. My post is an opinion that is based on fact. How so?
The simple fact that people are playing with the idea of these jackpot growing into the hundreds of millions of Dollars- if it is won, No rollover. ( common sense) So in the Grand Scheme of things- l think l am Right even though you think me Wrong.
l don't know of a single person who says I DO NOT WANT THE JACKPOTS TO GROW .. l WANT TO WIN IT ALL AT THE INITIAL AMOUNT...( sayi

Mega Millions And Powerball Jackpot Won Back To Back In New York.
Well Louie, since the lotteries are rigged for those 2 states only. Here's how you can be assured of having a REAL shot at winning. Have an associate purchase you advance draw tickets in both states. Only cost you $104 for PB and $52 for MM, totaling $156 for the year. Don't worry about the little jackpots, wait til they get up to 100 million annuity range, you know, in case you have to split it with a winner from one of the non rigged states......OH CRAP, I just thought of something...What if y

CA Lottery - California Love - CA Lottery Scratchers
I think the 180 days likely comes from:
We're not responsible for mail, tickets, or claim forms that are late, lost, damaged, misdirected, misaddressed, incomplete, or illegible. So, protect your prize by keeping a copy of your winning ticket and claim form. And always sign the back of your ticket. Scratcher tickets must be postmarked or received by Lottery offices within 180 days of the announced end of game date.
There is no mention of the timeframe of the length of time it takes to p

New York Lotto
Yes and no Scratch...
I live in New York, and I'd say yes two Games for a buck, but substantial Jackpots? Not really. They start out low, and the NY Lottery doesn't add much each time nobody hits it. It's 11 million now, but it took quite a while to get there. And my friends at The NY State Lottery allocate a whopping 38% to the prize pool. Which means they keep 62% of the take for The State of New York. Most state lotteries split it 50/50 with the players.
All of the above said, I never

CT lawmakers again seek lottery winnings from 1995 ticket
I do not understand why some states have a 180 day and others have a one year deadline in claiming prize money.
Why the discrepancy's among the various lotteries?
And another thing. I don't hear about unclaimed prize money rolling over into jackpots like I used to many years ago.Why not?
What does the national lottery's do with all the 100's of millions of unclaimed prize moneys each year?
This topic needs to be investigated by the news media.

Wisconsin MegaBucks $$
The starting jackpot for WI's Megabucks is 1 mil. It really takes a long time for the jackpot to crawl up this high... I'd have to look it up but I think it's been nearly a year and a half since this jackpot started rolling.
The lack of bigger jackpots in PA probably has to do with PA's population being more than double of WI's. I just looked up the number of winners from the last Megabucks draw and, based on number of 2nd and 3rd prize winners, I'd estimate there were only $200,000-$300,000

Powerball Matrix Change - April 15, 2015
It's just fine the way it is now.
It only looks that way because you're a player instead of a bureaucrat. Revenue is down, and they think they can change that. I'd think that if any of them had a room temperature IQ they'd remember what happened right before they settled on the current format and maybe even learn a lesson from it, but I guess I'm overly optimistic.
IIRC, they weren't even trying to fix declining revenue, per se. There was simply an unusually long period without a really

When is the Last Time a Jackpot was Hit by a Group ?
I was thinking about this before the PB jackpot was just hit ... I don't remember when the last MM or PB jackpot was hit by a group of people.
I may have missed that news but I think it's been well over a year ... maybe two years, not sure.
When you think how many tickets a group of people might have toward a large jackpot but the groups don't seem to be hitting jackpots lately ... just individuals.
Of course the other two unknown tickets from the PB may be from a group when finally ann
