Will we ever see a double win?
Okay I think I get what you're saying. If someone buys a PB ticket, the odds of them hitting the jackpot are 1 in 175,223,510 regardless whether they also bought a MM ticket and won/lost. Yet the odds of hitting PB given that you also hit MM if you only buy 1 ticket each (as you say, starting now) would be 1 in 45.4 quadrillion. It's almost paradoxical. I've seen retrospective oohs and aahs here over people who had multiple big hits spread over years. Similar to how the experts quote Gi

Would you quit your job if you won the lottery?
Posted before but worth repeating........ Way back before MM, PB, the Big Game, the Illinois lotto game had some pretty good jackpots. One time in the 1980s a guy from Chicago won $43M. He was a printer making $650 a week (good money back then) and swore he'd keep working. The guys' name was something like W......ski. We were in the break room and a guy from Detroit (Sully will get this) said, What else could you expect from a dumb P.....ock! Anyway, the guy quit his p

Well there goes Illinois Lucky Day Lotto...
I don't think the new matrix is a good idea from the business point of view. After the initial euphoria of bigger jackpots, people will soon figure out that hardly anyone wins frequently anymore. Sales will slump just like those for the Lotto game where there is now a winner only about three times a year. The pressure on Northstar group to make more money for the state will drive Illinois Lottery to irrelevance I wish many more players were aware that they are being taken to the cleaners

Well, in order to pay for those new midrange prizes they got rid of some of the jackpots. $5 LfL (old): 1 in 2.4 million $5 LL (new): 1 in 4 million $10 LfL: 1 in 3 million $10 LL: 1 in 3.6 million Though looking at it like this, it was a little weird that the $5 was more likely to hit than the $10.

BOHICA IL players
Here we go again changing the game. Lucky day lotto going with a 5 of 45 matrix starting July 13th. Can hear the promotion before it starts. We made the game harder to win so you can win bigger jackpots everyday even twice a day and don't forget unezmatch! So have an unlucky day lotto. Like we need another reason to quit playing in Illinois

The new odds for Mega Millions have been a failure!
They did promise higher, faster jackpots more often Stack47... well sorta Straight from the press release on MM webpage dated 10/19/13... with quotes from various lottery directors http://www.megamillions.com/news-releases/mega-millions-to-become-even-more-mega-beginning-with-the-october-22-drawing From my perception the only thing that has really changed is the starting amount and the other tier prize structure. Other than that, it's the same ole pig with some new lipstick on it...

so games that are going to end . They don't release anymore top prizes right . So no point in buying them Or are there. I've seen top prizes claimed after the announcement of end of game dates. Whether the actual wins occurred before that date, I don't know. If the game is unbalanced with respect to top prizes paid out relative to sales, you may seen a top prize win(s) before the game disappears. for example diamond millionaire jackpots in circulation. Probably not, but you never know..
