Greg: Actually, it's the INSURANCE COMPANIES that make money off players' winnings when a winner receives annuity payments. Massachusetts still requires its 6/42 and 6/49 winners to receive annual payments; here in NY, scratch game prizes (currently) over $500,000 are annuity-only as well. Mass. and NY are the two most corrupt lottery states. PEGLEG is right about how to go about getting an annuity _after_ choosing lump sum.

Whether you buy one or 100 tickets, remeber to choose Annuity as the payment method.Choosing Annuity just makes so much sense.
