Probability of a rollover in PB and MM
Quote: Originally posted by prob987 on February 01, 2004 The powerball has rolled over again, with the jackpot for 2/4/04 being $85 million, an annuity increase of $11 million dollars. The probability that the jackpot will roll again next Wednesday is 87%. The probability of there being one winner is about 12%. The probability of two winners is roughly 1% and the probability of 3 winners is 0.04%. Don't you mean that the probability was for the drawing that has just passed? I mean, the ticke

Mississippi Residents Flock to Tennessee for Lottery Tickets
There is ample evidence that lotteries take much more money from poor people than wealthy people. If the state budget is in a bad way, then let's be honest and talk about taxes. That's because of one main reason---There are statistically more poor people than wealthy people. Also, proportionally, an increase in taxes (especially sales taxes, sin taxes, and user fees) takes much more money from poor people than wealthy people. At least with the lottery it is a voluntary tax as no one

What a program needs to be good ...
I agree with you Johnny,While I believe you can't calculate the next picks, you can find parameters that are most common to most picks and play combinations within those parameters and increase your odds of a win. Knowing that combinations of 4 or more seldom repeat, some ranges ,gaps and sums are more common than others and most time winning numbers have been picked in a certain number of previous drawings can all be helpful in picking your numbers. I track numbers too and use draw history to

Has anyone here ever won the lottery big!
Here we go AGAIN first of all your COMPLETELY wrong the lottery is not based on LUCK and luck only works for those that believe in it also you don't have to wait for LUCK to strike you can make your own LUCK.And as far as GOD is concerned if you believe GOD sits up in HEAVEN and decides who will win the lottery or not then I hope your on his list. For the others that believe winning the lottery is a PERSONAL choice or ENDEAVOR then we will do what we can to win whether it's buying Quick-Picks,pla

Time & Date on lottery ticket?
why isnt it where you can read it plainly without decoding it? i got this same problem with my customers complaining that they couldnt understand the expiration date on some products lots of them and so i had to force the merchants to show me how to decode the dates by threatening to lower my buy from them. and they would show me the codes . so, what im saying is why would they hide the time from us, the same way drink bottlers hide their expiration dates? the bottlers dont wish for you to kn

Settings? - Windows Lotto Pro for Pick 3
The only thing you really need to watch out for is the PRIOR numbers which are REPEATS in my particular case there were no repeats but repeat numbers occur quite often so you might want to select 1 or 2 for the PRIOR selection.I have a little technique I use for selecting repeat number amounts you set up a chart and write 0-Repeats,1-Repeat,2-Repeats don't worry about 3 because the same combo coming up the next day can happen but not enough to worry about.Color Code the Chart 0=yellow,1=gr

How much would you pay?
a 10 fold increase in the odds is not exactly a guaranteed hit... I did understand, I still wouldn't pay more than $1 because the ODDS ARE NOT A REDUCEABLE FRACTION... Unless said ACME system/pool covered ALL of the combos... you are still leaving MILLIONS of possibilities uncovered and now you ended up dragging alot more people into it...I STILL stand by my $1, and I wouldn't join a pool eitherbecause the odds are NOT reduceable. If you buy ONE ticket for the 3 digit game (odds 1:1000) you leave

Prove it!
Your absolutely right ZENO no person or program can predict the EXACT 6 Lottery Numbers but it's quite obvious your biased as to the possibility of using other methods that are not considered predicting.First of all only people that claim to be PSYCHICS would say such nonsense, those of us that aren't psychic use Analysis Software to help select numbers to wheel.By wheeling a group of numbers say 18-24 and applying filters you can dramatically increase your chances of hitting 3 to 6 numbe

$100 Million Jackpot is Texas Record
The Mega Millions jackpot, which increased to $100 million after no tickets matched all six numbers last night, is the highest jackpot ever for the state of Texas. We promised players a game that would produce high level jackpots and be exciting, said Reagan E. Greer, Executive Director of the Texas Lottery Commission. Not only did we reach that goal, we included a game feature that players told us they wanted the Megaplier, a chance for players to increase their non-jackpot prizes. Projectio

Are Lotteries Rigged
The timing between draws on the Halogen machines used by the powerball has an operator adjustable delay between drawings of balls 1 thru 5. It doesn't mean they can or do manipulate it, but it's certainly NOT outside the realm of possibility... the question is WHEN? I don't think they would do it all the time, but certain trends show up when you filter the numbers by jackpot level... If I were to guess, they would probably use something (if they were going to) on the lower draws to spur a rollov
