Iowa Lottery CEO Terry Rich answers your questions
Right, I think I said that I suspected it was easier (and I'm sure more convenient) for the lotteries to use computerized drawings. I'm not sure it is cheaper though. I also don't think it is safer, but since when has public safety or public opinion gotten in the way of a big business? Which I'm kind of sure includes lotteries.
Let's look at it from another angle. Say the most important and expensive item you buy is a house, you want to make sure the transaction is secure with your bank and a

Iowa Lottery CEO Terry Rich answers your questions
Good evening Mr Rich,
Before finding out about the scandal, I used to play Hot Lotto (with the sizzler) twice a week, every week. I won't reveal how much I was spending. I will just say it was a lot!
I feel extremely let down and cheated.
What are The Lottery Officials doing to re-gain public trust?
Have the stopped using computerized drawings yet?
Thank-you!

ILLINOIS LOTTERY MOVES TO COMPUTERIZED DRAWINGS
It doesn't matter what RNG creates Quick Picks. No matter what numbers you have no matter how they were created, and by what RNG, they should always have the same probability of winning as any other set of numbers. So putting discussion of the Quick Picks RNG in the same discussion as the drawing RNG is a red herring it is a side-show that distracts from the point.
The problem is that, as we saw in the Hot Lotto case, it is possible to rig a computerized drawing and hide the fact you did it.

Discovery - New PA Raffle Game Change
Thanks for responding Ron. I think everything you wrote is spot on.
My thinking with regard to using a RNG for a raffle as opposed to a drawing of numbered balls from a fixed matrix (6/49) is the lottery really cant use a rotating glass drum with balls in it for a raffle due to time constraints. I suppose a drum could be used, but how practical is it to do that? I would think that it might take a very long time for a rotating drum to spit out 6,000 different winning raffle ticket numbers. It'

WA state pick3
Hey Bran,
I know how you are feeling and did you see the recent link about
BOMBSHELL: MUSL employee might have rigged Hot Lotto computerized drawing at this site?
I think it is time for a ballot to be written up for WA Lottery to go back to ball system drawing.. So i would like to get this started and i have no idea where to start. The goal is to get this on the ballot for Nov election and see if this passes... It's time to get WA Lottery to get rid of the computerized drawings f

what is your thoughts on randomness is there structure even in chaos?
I do not feel true randomness exist in games of chance run by the state. If you want true randomness then the state lotteries would not use computerized drawings or balls.
True randomness would be more like this:
Instead of using balls they would set up a glass booth downtown so everyone could witness the event of a person inside this booth grabbing 6 one dollar bills out of the air inside the booth containing 49 dollar bills blowing around inside the booth with air. Each bill would be ass

Prolific lottery winner does it again
and WAITING is exactly what I would be doing if I tried this method. If a number normally turns up once a year, my luck it would take 4 years....or it would never fall as a straight number and I would only win a fraction of the true payout.
Just like the number 721 in Cash 3...it has typically fell every 3 months here in TN, but now suddenly it has been at least 6 months. Had I been playing it every night since I called it out about 2 months ago, I would be out a lot more dough.

TN Lottery Pick 5 ending Oct 1
Well that is annoying. I noticed that Tennessee has never made an attempt to make Pick/lotto 5 a daily game like the pick 5/fantasy 5 games in other states. I've never really understood why they never implemented those changes. I look at this as a step in the wrong direction. Lotto Plus was a flop and I am afraid this one will also be a flop considering their poor advertising and computerized drawing methods. I have noticed that number game sales for Tennessee have dramatically declined since co
