NY Scratch-off Discussion
if you ask me, what they do is nothing more than legalized theft. its bad enough they take 35% and make the game an instant loser for anyone that doesnt win a jackpot. but if you DO win a jackpot and are super lucky, they rip you off for 60% overnight. it wouldnt be so bad if they just taxed you 25-35%, but what kills you is that they put in the controversial advertising jackpots as annuity, which ironically, breaks most state law because when you choose cash the lottery doesnt distribute the

Good Investment Or Not- Playing Every Combination
With rules and frequencies of the drawings now, there would be so many people involved that no one but themselves would know about it unless they talked about it publicly If they're successful the lottery will know about it. Selling every combination, or even 90% of them without selling an enormous number of tickets is virtually impossibe from a statistical standpoint. There's also the matter of how they would organize their bets. You don't think they're going to sort through 10 million ran

New York: 5/1 - 5/31/2011

post if you have purchased a roll of scratch-off's
Are you playing in a high or low volume store ? In general I would stay away from the low volume places as they are money pits at best. The worst are the places with a selection of only 5 scratch offs total. The same rolls sit there for months it seems. What I really dont play at but should be are gas stations. They seem to be havens for jackpot winners. They have lower volume then major grocery chains but carry a better selection of scratchers thus increasing odds of having more jackpots

Why does New York always win MM & PB?
Repost: As far as the State that sold the PB jackpot winning ticket, here they are, in descending order, going back a few years: IN FL NY NY NJ NC AR KY OK KS WI FL SC IN PA PA NM PA OK LA SC MN OK NM NH SC WI OR AZ MO MO NE IA MO OR. It goes in Cycles. PA won 3 of 4 Jackpots a few years ago, and I remember BACK THEN folks were whining about a 'conspiracy theory', and I said back then the same thing I say now: things go in Cycles. Funny to note PA has not won one since. They wil

The Great Lottery Revolt
Players know the odds when they buy tickets That depends on how the lottery expresses the odds. A raffle game selling $500,000 unique tickets with four $1 million winners at $20 a ticket will say each ticket has a legitimate 1 in 125,000 chance of winning one of the four jackpots. While that looks great for advertisement, it really means 499,996 tickets will not hit a jackpot; that's 99.9992% of all the $20 tickets sold. To answer the original question, many states offer promotions that

Indiana Again!
I'd say it was most likely a Quick Pick simply because Quick Picks win the overwhelming majority of jackpots. It's like a landslide in favor of QP's, man. Like a huge gargantuan avalanche. I can't stress that enough. There aren't words enough to explain the enormity of the calamitous trouncing of Self Picks by Quick Picks. Oh, the humanity! I'm neutral though on the issue of which method is best.

It would be fun if an uberball lottery was created.
When I say uberball, I'm talking about a very hard to win game with huge jackpots. I think a game where you have to choose 9 numbers between 1 and 999, and a bonus ball between 1 and 750 could be tough. I'm not very good with math, so I'm not sure what the odds would be. I wonder if people would possibly win the jackpot often. If any of you are math geniuses, maybe you could calculate those odds. This would be a good game to start the jackpot out at $100,000,000, and increase it by $20,

New games, FL and other states
Ok, So, even more new games have been put out on the shelves in FL. But get this, to make room for a new game, the Lottery sales team will remove an older game from the retail slot in the case. The roll may be mid way through or whatever is left. I asked what happens to the tickets removed. They get destroyed. Ok, so if there is only 1/5 prizes left and the game is getting older with new games out, then the game with 1/5 has a good chance that its Jackpot is actually unavailable. sounds li

D.C. first in USA to offer Internet gambling
Between the federal deficits, the trade deficits, outsourcing all the manufacturing and production jobs to countries with cheaper labor and unemployment soaring all over the US the feds and the trickle down from the shrinking federal assistance to states is bound to lead to finding money anywhere it can, fed, state and local. Catching some of the multi-billion online gambling money and pouring it into the coffers beats feeding it to the dark underside-types who are behind all that online casino
