$975 MILLION: Massive Powerball jackpot increases again
Easter sales dip might be holding it back By Todd Northrop The near-billion-dollar Powerball jackpot grew again last night, but perhaps not as much as it would have if this weren't Easter weekend. The latest increase of the current lengthy Powerball jackpot run comes after nobody won last night's drawing, sending the Monday jackpot ever closer to heights that once seemed unattainable for a lottery game. Monday's Powerball jackpot is currently estimated at $975 million, with a lu

Wisconsin Mega Bucks
Last week I emailed a question to the lottery, this is their reply... Thank you for reaching out to us with your questions. All prizes in Wisconsin's Megabucks are funded solely out of the tickets purchased. (Approximately 53.5% of each dollar played is allocated to prizes.) As the Megabucks jackpot was recently won, sales must be enough to fund the minimum $400,000 starting cash option before you will see that cash option number begin to increase, and the same can be said of the adve

Jimmy BOZO What a load of crap, You are a disciple of the abomination generation. You want everything without working for it. You possess the same mentality as the slave owners of the 18th, 19th centuries. You feel that you have the right to the take from others that which you have no claim to. From your insistence that it's foolishness to pick ones own numbers in favor of a QP. I have provided a means that if used correctly can improve a persons play, I have showed you many times

Jackpot lotteries trends May 16
I haven't gotten around to trying to determine whether this relates to moon phase, whatever. It's just a heat index/rise-fall comparison between two consecutive days. I'm figuring I'll run it up on the flagpole this once to see if anyone salutes by wanting to discuss whatever it might mean more thoroughly: (I explained on the full moon thread how the color choices apply in terms of 'hot') May 15 tiers 2 6 14 22 23 24 32 34 36 40 10

Are you playing Mega Millions with the $5.00 per play?
They didn't come up short. They just didn't get to skim the full 50% they normally would have. Total sales for the run were a hair over $117 million. Of the $58.5 million that goes to prizes just over 44.7% is for lower tier prizes, so they'd need about $26.2 million for the smaller prizes. Add in the cash value of $41.9 million and the total prize payout is about $68.1 million. That leaves them $48.9 million instead of the $58.5 million target. Of course the lottery is playing the long game

Are you playing Mega Millions with the $5.00 per play?
My contention is that this run is already at the 40/41 rollover point because of the $50M starting point as opposed to $20M. I don't think anyone's arguing against that, including the people at MM. Unlike some people here the people at MM probably don't care, even if they wish it had grown faster. For about 35 of those drawings revenue was up compared to the $2 price, and only the last few drawings have seen revenue drop relative to the $2 tickets, but MM is playing the long game. The curre

classic questions on lottery forums
Playing lotteries is about maximizing your probabilities not getting guarantees. Studying past draws is a waste of time. Each drawing is an independent random event. The only way to increase the probability of winning is to buy more tickets. That being said, if you buy an enormous number of tickets, you can increase the probability of winning a lower prize by ensuring your picks are spread out over the matrix. The downside is that if you do win a lower prize, it's less likely you'll win
